Chapter 18: Tavern Brawl

After the man flew into the bar the entire tavern went silent, everyone stopped in their tracks and turned to look at them, after a few seconds someone at the back of the tavern stood up and yelled.

".....BAR FIGHT!!!", once he did the entire building erupting into chaos, patrons began fighting, chairs were smashed, tables flipped, and bottles shattered against skulls.

The girls that Kiburi and the unnamed agitator were fighting over began happily kicking the man while he was unconscious.
Kiburi saw this and quickly walked away in case they had any grievances with him as well. As he did Marya grabbed and pulled him over to her.

"I told you not to start any trouble!", Marya shouted.

"It wasn't me this time, I was being good I swear, he came over and starting yelling at me, I told him to go away, then Silvio stood up and used his weird magic on him", Kiburi hastily explained.

"That isn't like Silvio at all", Lara interjected.

"Well it is like Tequila Silvio", Kiburi said cheekily.

"You let him drink?!", Lara exclaimed with concern and terror.

"Well, yeah, but it was sort of his idea", Kiburi replied sheepishly, just then Jiro appeared dragging Silvio, who was chuckling uncontrollably.

"Damnit we have no leads and a bar fight we need to find a way out of without getting killed, I dont know who to blame so everyones to blame right now!", Marya said furiously.

"What did I do?", Jiro asked innocently.

"I dont know yet but I'll think of something later, right now it's time to get the hell out of here!", Marya said as they all turned around and readied their weapons, except Silvio, who was facing the wrong direction, Jiro spun him around in the right direction.

As they walked towards the door the piano started playing fast-paced music, the bards jumped on stage with their instruments and began playing along.

The crew made it a few steps before someone came at Lara with the leg of a chair, but before they could hit her Kiburi punched them in the face, causing them to spin around and fall to the ground.

"You like that, my muscles are all natural you know", Kiburi said as he looked down at Lara with a prideful grin, flexing his muscles towards her.

"I could've handled that", Lara replied irritably as she moved his arm out of her way, slamming another attacker with her shield and knocking over another one coming in the opposite direction with a leg sweep.

"But wouldn't you prefer it from a big and strong man?", Kiburi asked pompously as he slammed someone into a table, shattering it into pieces.

"I would prefer you to just shut up and stay out of my way", Lara answered crossly.

"Would you two get a room already!", Marya shouted, she was currently piggy-backing on someone while choke holding them.

"I'm trying but somebody is playing hard to get", Kiburi said as he looked towards Lara and flared his brows playfully.

"Yeah well you're just playing hard-headed", Lara remarked.

"I hate you people", Marya said as she let go of her combatant and pushed off their back, knocking them into a pillar.

On the other end Jiro and Silvio were fighting off their own set of enemies, well, mainly Jiro, who was doing his best to defend a drunken Silvio, who was brandishing his wand at anybody who approached him, which caused most of them to back off, while others would continue to approach, which resulted in Jiro whacking them with his bo-staff.

"Please stand behind me", Jiro asked calmly.

"You need protection too you know, dont worry, I've got your back", Silvio replied.

"Thank you but I am quite alright", Jiro replied with a smile, Silvio noticed someone about to stab Jiro in the back, he quickly moved his wand in a upwards motion which caused the enemy to fly into the ceiling and fall back down onto the floor.

"I stand corrected", Jiro replied surprisingly, Silvio smiled back and performed a bow, someone attempled to slice Silvio with a blade but missed due to the bow, Jiro retaliated with a quick kick to their chest, sending them flying onto the ground. Silvio stood back up and was completely oblivious to what just happened.

Lara finished off her current opponent and noticed the path to the door was empty, she pointed to it and shouted, "there's our opening!", once she did they all turned and raced towards the door.

The five of them burst through the door and began to cheer and celebrate. Lara and Kiburi hugged briefly before she quickly realized and pushed him away awkwardly.

"Uhm, you guys are pretty good for a bunch of delinquents", She said nervously.

"Yeah, and you're not so bad for a knight stooge", Kiburi complimented, the both stood there and gazed into eachothers eyes, they were then interrupted by Marya.

"Uh, guys", She said with fear in her voice.

"What's up...oh", Lara began, breaking her gaze with Kiburi and turned to see the town consumed by smoke and flames.

"Oh shit", Lara said as her joy melted away.
