He was excited. He was so so close. Luca didn't wanna wait any longer."Luca, where are you going?" Oh no. It was his mom. A shiver danced across his pale blue-violet skin. Luca was hoping to make it past the kitchen and put the front door. It was a big house anyways. But he should have realized everyone would be in the kitchen.
"Heyyyyy guys, what's up?-" Luca stiffened his shoulders, hunching his back a tad and gripping the handle of his deep brown leather satchel closer to his chest. The grip turning his knuckles white while his violet skin rushed pink onto his cheeks nose and ears. It was likely to leave a mark on his shoulder or at least the neck.
"Well am I not allowed to ask you where you're going? You've been sneaking out of the house every weekend and I have no idea where you go!" She placed her hands on her hips and Luca could only move a step back as his blush deepened. He chewed on his lip for a moment, thinking of what he could tell her. He knew by the look in her eyes he was taking too long.
"Im going out for lunch?" Why did his voice do that. It was technically the truth. But why did it sound like a question? All he wanted ti do is sit in his favorite booth sipping a pink lemonade from a straw, with sugar on his lips for him to lick off as he scrubs away pencil sketches and shoves bits of eraser onto the floor below.
"And you couldn't have just said that from beginning? Luca, I'm your mom and I wanna know where you disappear to for hours of the day. How do I know that you're not lying to me? I wanna trust you, you know I do my baby boy," she paused to place her hand against Lucas soft skin. He had a square face but uncannily soft skin and chubby cheeks like a baby. He watched as his moms arm glowed with change and from her small broken hearts of moments before did they become an ellipse. She wasn't sure what to say. That was clear. "What do you even do while you're gone?"
"I happen to space out a lot um. Like staring out the window and stuff. I would probably be gone and back before you realize it if the sunsets through that window weren't so beautiful."
"Okay, I believe you Luca. We all know that you tend to be a daydreamer. But," she pointed a finger at him for ephasis. "I want a picture of the sunset when you get home." "She poked him a few more times in the chest and the stomach. Luca recognized it as teasing. But oh no. It was going there... "You got that?!"
She shouted unapologetically before she began jabbing her fingers into the sides of his stomach again. It was one of her famous post-interrogation tickle-attacks.
"Mom! Okay okay I get it!" Luca couldn't help the deep rumbles of laughter escaping him, giggling along with his mother as she continued to torture him. Luca looked ti the side. It was only Maze that day. No best friend Hato to save him. Maze would only cackle at his displeasure. And yet here he was laughing till he choked because he couldn't sneak out of the house fast enough. Usually she wouldn't have said much but she seemed to really want Luca at the house that day. He would be back. And then out again tomorrow. But he would still come back. When the stars are out and winking at him that is.
Luca left while he still had a chance. Making it quickly to the small cafe like it wasn't 15:00pm. It was one of those cafes where you would walk across the sidewalk and then down a small flight of stairs. It was underground so there wasn't much natural lighting. However with the soft blue light that shown down and then the pale yellow closer to the back of the cafe and near the kitchen; well, it was close enough. And not to mention, always quiet. Both of which were all the more reason to stay.
The people too were nice. There was a girl named Cassie, with bubblegum pink hair that she kept up in space buns, her glasses clearly being broken more than once. Her free hair was filled with colorful beads. And as part of the uniform for the cafe, she wore black leggings, a brown jean-skirt, a crème coloured t-shirt and a brown cardigan. Her necklaces however were once again colourful heads. (The uniform is black pants and a brown top. Shoes and accessories can be anything) She usually cleaned and set up tables, sometimes helping with the sweeping, but it was never that busy so it was just under the booths.
There was also the boy who worked behind the register. His name was Asher. He had black fluffy hair, fair skin, orange eyes and he wore a simple black ripped jeans and black converse with a dark brown t-shirt and coco coloured baseball cap. He was nice enough, but super quiet compared to Cassie.
It was a family owned business so mother and daughter worked in the kitchen making the sweets. Both of them were kind with soft blonde hair and brown eyes. Mani [The mom] often wore a black button up dress and a deep brown apron, while Kel [the daughter] wore an oversized brown t-shirt, some black leggings, pink platforms and a small pink donut pin in her hair. She would work with Cassie on the sweeping if she wasn't baking or washing dishes.
Finally, there was the new boy. Luca didn't know his name yet. Luca guess he was still in schooling because he didn't have a full time schedule. He did the most of the sweeping but sometimes helped out with table running. Oscar, was the main table runner, but he was a sickly boy whose hair almost gave it away. So- mr Golden-Blonde, blondie? Goldie? Goldie works- Mr Goldie would do the table running when he wasn't working a brush on a long stick under tables. He looked weirdly familiar. He had a face full of almost glittery freckles and Golden blonde hair. In his hair there was a black lightning bolt, so Luca could only assume he had an electricity related quirk. Goldie would usually be humming to songs Luca could barely recognize as he sweeped and sang and served less than half of the table.
Luca shouldn't be getting distracted though. He was so close to finishing his book. It was half novel and half graphic novel where every few pages he would do a few panels of pictures, swap around the order of the pages here and there. Then leave with the binder his story was in back into his bag. Luca had ordered a very chocolatey drink for himself. Just like every other time. And it looked like pretty boy- er, Goldie, was gonna be bringing his drink over.
His drink was placed on the table and Luca set his pencil and eraser down before lifting his drink to his lips. He gave the golden blonde a once over. Huh. He had golden eyes too. Cute. No. He was wearing a few pink hair clips in his shiny gold hair and some heart earrings. A pink long sleeve shirt under an oversized red-brown t-shirt. Black ripped jeans with dark pink fishnets and some pink converse. Either he likes the color pink or he knows he looks good in it. Luca had to shake away those thoughts.
"Hi there." Shit! Even his voice was hot...
"Hello," Luca swallowed thickly. Damn.
"What are you doing here alone?" Goldie was a curious one it seemed. He had taken both of his earbuds out. This was gonna be a real conversation.
"Working on a book." Luca mumbled around his straw. He took another slow sip as he glanced around and saw that the few other people in the cafe had company.
"Well I can see that. I meant what are you doing here alone. It's Valentine's Day!" He placed his hands on his hips. Hmm, thin hips. Luca choked. Stupid thoughts.
"What are you doing here working. It's Valentine's Day." Luca half mocked, barely registering what he was saying. Blondie looked like he was about to say something when, Hold Up. "Wait- what?! It's Valentine's Day?!" The Electric boy hummed. His lips were also very pink. Cute.
"Um, Happy Valentine's Gay then! I mean Gay! I mean I'm gay! Wait no! Ugh!" Luca slammed his drink back down and took a breath in as his face flushed heavily. "Happy Valentine's Day?" He whispered out shyly. Goldie only chuckled. Again. It was cute. Damnit.
"Happy Valentines to you too. *giggles* I've seen you around before but it's nice to finally meet you, Gay. I'm Denki Kaminari."
Today chapter was meant to be a Valentines special chapter. If you couldn't tell. And I apologize for it being a little late. As for whats going on on this chapter; i am aware that i created Luca Monoshai and any characters related to him that do not belong to the MHA/BNHA franchise for the purpose of Luca being Denki's soulmate. However I wanted to mess around with my characters a little further. Luca has become a favorite of mine, to draw, to write, to make drama with. So I made this a non-soulmates 1shot within my story. I really liked writing it and I hope you liked it too.
Also, someone let me know if yiu want to see these characters? I kinda made them up as I wrote this and went back to fix some things but yeah :)
