prequel to 'The night they found out"

It was about 4 in the morning, and for everyone who doesn't know what sleep is, it's hard to tell if that's supposed to be late or early.

Roaming the halls aimlessly all the while sipping at a juice box, was Denki Kaminari. He had his blonde hair uncharacteristically pulled back into a half ponytail.

He decided to use the stair rail as a slide and hopped up towards the wall descending towards the bottom of the stairwell at a rapid rate. "Hup!" he exclaimed, landing with two feet on the ground just in front of the stairs. Taking another sip from the straw he came to the disappointing realization that he had finished his juice.

Making his way back towards the fridge he skipped over the cracks between the kitchen tiles and wobbled on one foot just before the fridge; giggling silently to himself. Shrugging the fridge open with a backward jerk of his arm, Kaminari quickly scanned the contents of the cold box. Trailing his eyes up and down the shelves he spotted another juice box not far from where his first one had been located and picked up the small carton.

The fridge closed with a swish and a thump that was pleasingly quiet and fast. Poking the straw into his juice Denki took a sip before stopping in his tracks. ^Thats weird,^ he thought to himself, listening for the noise again. Then he heard the gruff voice again and continued to try and put a name to it. Downstairs remained nearly pitch black so it was hard to tell either way.

"Shhh! Nobody else is awake yet," came the raspy voice. Were there two people? Or more?

Denki tiptoed out of the kitchen towards the couches where the voice(s) sounded like it was coming from. Cautiously approaching the other body/bodies? Denki kept low to the ground attempting to catch the other person off guard. Which was exactly what he ended up doing.

The faint light near the staircase illuminated Denki's hair, but thanks to his quirk his eyes always seemed to be glowing a little bit. A quiet gravelly yelp came from the mouth of none other than Tokoyami Fumikage

^Well that explains why he was shushing someone^ Denki thought to himself before his eyes trailed down to look at the smaller body in his arms and he realized the pose they had been in. One of Denki's Hands was around Tokoyamis waist, while the other was placed on the small of his back; while Toko had a fireman grasp on Denki's upper left arm, the one that was reaching around to his back, while his other hand was gripped around Denki's shoulder.

"Oh, um, I apologize Kaminari," Tokoyami muttered out, straightening himself up and turning away with an invisible blush as Dark Shadow giggled at his dismal.

"You're cute, I-! I mean you're fine, there's no need to apologize that is! I mean not that you're not cute but like," Denki trailed off with an extremely flushed face, scratching at the side of his neck.

"You know what I'm just gonna stop talking now, I'll let you be Tokoyami." The glowing blonde remarked tiredly and with embarrassment; attempting to walk away before he felt a hand wrap around his own.

"You think I'm cute?"

"I mean yeah-"

"In what way? Because the girls say I'm cute all the time, but I believe they mean it by the fact that I am short in height."

"I guess, you're short or whatever, but it's not like I'm tall myself. You're cute. I um, I find you like really really attractive and I really wasn't planning on confessing in this way."

"You were planning to confess?"

"I mean not really. I'm not exactly the best with feelings and stuff."

"So, what was the plan."

"I thought you might have been a villain and wanted to surprise you. Not end up with my crush in my arms." Denki slapped a plan over his face and dragged it down his face at his accidental reveal." "I've said too much." And looked away.

"I see no problem with it, better to let it all out than keep inside. But that does raise a question." Toko waited a moment, Denki flushed once again a beer red while Fumikage watched patiently for the blonde to at least glance at him or reply.

"Yeah?"

"I've come to ponder, do you have any plans tomorrow?" Denki fully turned to gave the beaked boy, clearly puzzled and still flustered.

"No, my schedule is clear as far as I can tell. Why?"

"Great. I'm free as well. It's a date." Tokoyami said almost bluntly. He kissed Denki's cheek and walked away pleased with himself while Denki just stood there trying to dig through what had just happened. Dumbfounded with the events of the early morning-night.
