Even through the walls separating the med-bay and Kylo's bedroom you could sense him. He couldn't, somehow, but understanding how the force worked was on your lower list of priorities right now. The doors opened. It was dark, almost pitch black. He hadn't closed the windows and through the glass you had a perfect view into space. The Supremacy was currently floating around in the Outer Rims, somewhere near the Varkana system. Varkana itself was nowhere to be seen and stars were only visible as tiny specks of lights visible with the naked eye. How small you felt, every time you looked outside into space. And... how useless. You were nothing, as important as space dust. You didn't have much of an effect on the universe and your problems didn't matter to the void.

Void...like you were. Maybe you two had something in common after all. Even though space and the galaxy didn't much care about what was keeping you up at night, you cared and if something had upset you enough to keep you from a well-deserved sleep, you wouldn't stand by idly. No, you'd always confronted problems with a head-through-the-wall approach and you wouldn't change that now just because you'd stared out a window and felt insignificant. You weren't insignificant. You'd saved the Supreme Leader of the First Order and those definitely had an effect on the universe because they'd destroyed quite a few planets so far. So, by extension: you mattered and the darkness outside the window could go fuck itself for giving you an impromptu imposter syndrome. Or whatever one wanted to call that.

You walked over to Kylo's bed, turning your back on the void. The quiet sounds of your bare feet on the linoleum covered metal flooring did not wake him up. He was just lying there, softly snoring. He didn't look so intimidating when he was asleep, so you crossed your arms and watched him for a while. You couldn't actually wake the Supreme Leader up, could you? Just because you had a newfound significance to the universe didn't give you the right to bother one of its most powerful inhabitants... or did it?

No, that would be incredibly rude – you thought and wanted to around to leave as Kylo's lightsabre flew through the room and into his hand. You dropped down on the floor, arms raised to defend yourself, even though his weapon could have easily sliced through them.

"What the f-," He took a deep breath and switched off the lightsabre. "It's just you." He fell back into bed and made a motion for you to get back up. "Get up. I won't kill you."

"No?" you asked, voice a bit more high-pitched than intended.

"No." He sat up. Surprisingly enough, he didn't seem angry. "Why are you here?"

You got back up, straightened your First Order t-shirt again and cleared your throat. "We need to talk."

"Now?"

"Yes." You crossed your arms again, for once looking down on him and not the other way around. "Sir," you added after far too long of a time.

He looked up at you. Something about his expression told you that even though you'd tried to assert some form of authority that he was more amused than impressed. That was fine. You just needed him to answer questions; it didn't matter if he only did so out of pity or amusement. Kylo pulled his legs towards his body and hugged them. Sitting like this, he looked exhausted and some part of you started to feel bad for it...but it was only a small part. You needed answers.

"Fine," he said.

Him making space on the bed, you took as an invitation to sit on it as well. Once again, you straightened your pyjamas when sitting down, as if they were part of your normal uniform, and then you sat there in silence for a good half a minute because you did not know how to start.

"This whole suddenly having force-related powers is a bit much for me, Sir. I still don't believe it, to be fully honest."

"Can you sense me right now?"
