Finding yourself in the training hall, the Knights all standing around you, reminded you a little bit of the first time you'd met them. They were intimidating, their masks unmoving and their weapons by their side but now that you knew them better they were no longer the danger, they'd been the first time. The way Cardo was brushing over his arm cannon was no longer perceived as a threatening gesture but as an almost comedic one, with how much love he caressed it. Trudgen's crossed arms and Ushar leaning on his baton were much the same and Kuruk's silence comforted you in a strange way.
Their presence in the force fed into yours, powered you and no longer overwhelmed you, just how Kylo's presence had become an anchor for you; a way to keep you grounded.
"Morning, Miss," Vicrul greeted you. "You look—"
"I do not look dead," you interrupted him before he could say what he always did. "I look fine. This is normal for me."
"I was going to say that! Patience, young lady." He chuckled beneath his grenade-shaped helmet.
They looked at you expectantly. Kylo had told you that they'd made a decision. They'd allow you to become a Knight at the cost of your life, should you fail their trial. You'd said yes immediately after he'd proposed it and the look on Kylo's face had been torn between honour and sadness. Of course, you did not want to die, but you weren't going to fail this trial. You'd been through worse, you believed, but you weren't going to approach it with arrogance and believing that nothing and no one could stop you. That would simply be foolish.
"So," you started, straightened your back and spoke with the firmest voice you could muster up. "While I am not the same as you and the force is not flowing through me but around me, I am still on the dark side. I am not here as Kylo's apprentice, or your doctor but I am asking youto to test me if I am worthy of becoming a Knight."
Vicrul stepped forward and lifted up your chin with his index finger. You could see your face reflecting in the chrome mask and instead of staring into his eyes, you were looking into your own twisted reflection. "You're aware of the price, should you dissatisfy us?"
"Yes, I am."
He stayed like this for a few more seconds, then nodded, letting go of your chin and put his hand on your shoulder, squeezing it and whispering: "I trust you to not hesitate. No matter who you are facing. Give them a good death, that is all we ask. Failure will not be accepted and even if we told Ren that he has the honour of killing you, I will have cut your pretty little neck from your shoulders before he even realised you failed."
"I wouldn't want it any other way," you replied, hiding your surprise at his threat completely.
"Good, Miss, very good."
They didn't tell you where you were flying. They'd given you a suit preemptively, a modified stormtrooper armour, more lightweight and black with a simple, yet incredibly ugly, mask. You'd held it up in front of you, stared at it, then back at them, and only asked if they wanted the Resistance to laugh at you. Cardo had told you that they'd laugh at you anyway and asked why you were complaining given you found the 'horrendous four-eyed gecko thing' cute as well.
You'd just put it on and ignored him for the rest of the flight. Insulting LZ-2 was not something you took lightly. Yes, he was ugly and dangerous but he was also caring and adorable in his violence.
Now you'd arrived on an unknown planet that nature wise, vaguely resembled your home-planet. The mountains were high, the trees even taller and the valleys in between steep with lakes and rivers eating their way through the landscape. The trees on Chirna, where you were from, weren't as tall and neither were the mountains or the valleys, but the resemblance was uncanny.
