Honest Mistake SASUNARU

Chapter 51: Investigation

Monday morning was full of nothing but surprises for Naruto and Sasuke. The bedroom door swung open and Itachi made his way in without second thoughts, he stumbled over the loose articles of clothing scattered on the floor and only tried to ignore what mess was under the blanket across the bed. "Sasuke wake up." He said just as he leaned over and pushed the younger ravens shoulder, jolting him enough to make him awake.

"What...is...it?" Sasuke asked as he rolled onto his back letting go of any hold he had on the blonde who was nuzzled up near him. "Naruto needs to get downstairs, there's an officer who would like to speak to him." Itachi gave Sasuke a look that spoke volume, one the younger of the two saw was serious.

"Hm? What's going on?" Naruto opened his eyes slowly while rubbing the sleep from them. He glanced over the Uchiha's expressions and felt his stomach drop. He sat up and moved the blanket down to his lap, the two in bed weren't naked so there was no reason to freak but from the way Itachi looked he knew the topic in the air wasn't good. "Naruto...there is a man here who would like to speak with you." Itachi said as he backed up from the bed side.

Naruto knew exactly what he meant, and of course after going over their cover story he felt confident in the interrogation he was about to have. "Right." His eyes shifted from the older man over to his boyfriend who was giving him a concerning look. "It's okay." He reassured him before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek.

Itachi waited outside Sasuke's room for the blonde to get dressed, when he heard the door open he looked over to see him dressed in another set of Sasuke's darker clothes. Navy blue t-shift with black sweatpants. "Hn...maybe you should consider bringing some of your own clothes here." He said with a smile before kicking off the wall and beginning to walk down the hall towards the stairs. "Remember what we discussed?" Itachi mumbled under his breath as his feet started following themselves down the stairs.

"Yes." The two continued in silence before getting to the bottom. Itachi hovered his hand over the handle to the front door before looking back at Naruto, their eyes met and the blonde nodded his head as if telling him to go ahead.

As the door opened a man in a dark midnight blue uniform was standing beside another man wearing an identical uniform. One had brown hair that covered one eye with a navy blue beanie and the other had black hair that had a faint tone of blue in it similar to Sasuke's, with a white clothe that ran across the bridge of his nose. "Good morning Mr. Uzumaki, my name is Izumo Kamizuki and this is my partner Kotetsu Hagane. We'd like to ask a few questions if you don't mind." 

The man speaking up seemed rather nice but Itachi had warned him about the whole good cop bad cop situation in advance and to be prepared for any obstacles they may throw at him. "Sure, what seems to be the problem officers?" Naruto asked while he stepped out and closed the door behind him. This wasn't his house so there was no way he'd invite anyone in to the Uchiha residence.

The officers gladly stepped back opening the space between them. To Naruto's surprise he hadn't felt an ounce of nervousness since he had been woken up upstairs.

"Can you tell us where you were two nights ago around nine to eleven at night?" The officer who hadn't even introduced himself rather his partner spoke for him, was the one to ask this question. Naruto looked him dead in the eyes with no sign of suspicion as he answered back with confidence. "Saturday? I was here actually."

"From what we've gathered Sasuke Uchiha was still in the hospital, so why might you of been here? Why not at your own home? Itachi is four years older than you I have my doubts you two are friends." The same cop with a more dark demeanor was the one who seemed to be ahead of the interrogation part of this investigation. Naruto was keen on all the details, he made sure to mentally note each of their reactions and or actions.
