Chapter 28: Your Friend

It was Tuesday morning and the new founded couple returned to work as normal. Itachi had been there earlier in the morning to open up the shop, and as the two walked through the doors they headed towards the clock in machine. "Good morning." Itachi said with a smile as they walked past. Naruto gave the man a genuine smile in return while pulling up his hand giving him a small wave. Sasuke hadn't said anything as he was clearly tired from getting up so early. Even though waking up yet again next to his boyfriend was enough to lighten his day, the dark feeling of work was enough to dim that light.

There was a pile up of customer invoices that seemed to stack from the lack of mechanics in the shop yesterday, not only was Sasuke out but with Naruto being out too really made a dent in the days work. Itachi immediately assigned both of them a job to do as soon as the buzzer of the machine dinged, informing him that they were both now on the clock. "Sasuke I moved the GMC into your station, it needs a water pump and belt replacement. Naruto there's a Prius at yours that needs a new battery and terminals, if by chance you need assistance with the wiring don't be afraid to ask." Itachi ordered while handing over the two invoices for them to bring to their stations.

Naruto felt confident in his work and knew he didn't need help with something so simple, of course that's what he thought until he saw the car. He popped open the hood and when his eyes met with the flared and corroded terminals his heart sank. He sighed heavily before putting his hands onto the side panel and bowing his head. "Damn Prius." He whispered while gritting his teeth. Even though he could tell today was going to be rather hard on him, he didn't mind. It help distract him from the weekends events, and of course he doesn't mean the good things just the bad.

A few hours had gone by and Sasuke had finished his water pump job and moved onto an oil pan replacement on a newer vehicle. The car had been going down the high way when a truck that was in front of it dropped a ladder, causing the steps to break apart and glide across the road, which only ended with one of those steps to inject straight into the oil pan. The vehicle had to be towed to the shop which now was Sasuke's problem to fix.

With it still being summer it was beginning to get hot, Kiba walked around the shop and flicked on the fans to cool the area. The sweat started pouring down the blondes face making his hair stick to his temples. His whole face was flushed red and he was starting to crave water. He moved out from under a car on the crawl board before getting up. He huffed trying to catch his breath before walking in the direction where the fridge was that contains water. His eyes shifted as he walked past Sasuke's station, a flutter in his stomach made him smile to himself as he looked over the man's attire, he could see the sweat making his dark hair cling to his face just as bad, there was something about how the raven looked all greasy that made his heart tingle.

Naruto was thankful Sasuke hadn't seen him staring, he knew that being back at work they needed to stick with being professional. There was also the fact of the other coworkers, no body knew about them other than Itachi and Sakura. There was no way he was going to tell Kiba any time soon and as far as Naruto knew, Suigetsu had no idea. Of course that may be a secret that Sasuke has kept from him, or maybe it was just something he hadn't gotten the chance to tell the blonde. Nonetheless Naruto was clueless and with that he kept his distance from Sasuke in public.

His hand gripped the handle to the fridge as he pulled carelessly, his eyes immediately met with a cold water bottle that he felt had his name all over it. With both hands he cracked it open and began drinking it with the fridge held open by his waist.

"Don't chug it or you might hurl." A familiar voice sounded behind him as he stopped chugging to direct his attention to the person responsible. "Oh h-hey Suigetsu." Naruto said stammering, he tried to hold back the brain freeze he was getting from the cold water he just practically inhaled. "May I?" Suigetsu said gesturing to the fridge. Naruto realized at that point that he was standing in the way for him to get in there. "Oh yeah sorry." He said attempting to get out of the way, however he hadn't even managed to move in time before Suigetsu leaned down by his waist and grabbed a water bottle from inside the fridge just barely grazing Naruto's leg that was mainly in the way. The white haired man's other hand was resting on the edge of the fridge as if balancing himself while leaning down.
