Chapter 25
Once Sif I had left, Loki teleported back to Serena's door. He was trying to take everything in that he overheard. He was finding it hard to believe what Sif and Serena talked about. Everything from him and Serena to her quitting the Elite Guard. Loki knocked on Serena's door and waited for her to come. Serena asked, "Who is it?" Loki answered, "Serena it's me, Loki. Can I come in?" Serena answered, "Yes, of course, Loki." Loki went inside Serena's chambers. Loki asked, "Hi darling, how are you feeling today?" Serena replied, "I feel fine." Loki thought he would bring up the subject of Sif casually. Loki asked, "I thought I saw Sif leaving when I was coming up to your door?" Serena answered, "Yes, you saw Sif leaving. We were just talking." Loki asked, "Do you want to tell me about it?" Serena replied, "Oh, it wasn't much." Loki raised his eyebrow and replied, "Serena, you do know I can read minds." Serena answered, "Yes, I know you can read minds, but I hope you won't read mine." Loki smiled mischievously. Then said, "I won't baby if you tell me what you talked about?" Serena smiled shyly at Loki, "You trickster, you just want to know what we talked about, don't you?" Then Serena laughed. Loki smiled back at Serena. Serena answered Loki, "We talked about how much you care for me. Especially, when I got hurt, we discussed whether or not I should continue being an Elite Guard anymore." Loki asked, "Why would you want to stop being in the Elite Guard?" Serena said, "There are more things to be than an Elite Guard." Loki looked surprised because he knew that Serena loved being in the Elite Guard. Plus, he knew that Serena was lying because he read her mind and knew she really didn't want to quit.
Then Loki asked the question that he had been wanting to ask, "Serena, what if I asked you to quit the Elite Guards, would you do it?" Serena was taken off guard by his question. Serena hesitated for a moment then said, "I would quit because I love you Loki. That is if the All Father will let me quit." Loki responded, "If you want to quit, I don't see how my father could stop you." Serena replied, "He's the All Father. Plus, when I became an Elite Guard, I made a vow to the All Father to serve him as long as I lived OR until he released me." Loki got to thinking then he replied, "Well, we'll have to get him to release you from your vow. I will go to my father and ask him to do it." Serena made the comment, "I should be the one to ask him though." Loki replied, "Ok if it doesn't work then I will go to him myself." Serena said, "Then it's settled. I will go and talk to the All Father about me quitting the Elite Guards."
