"ITS TIME TO GO"
-

A FEW MONTHS HAD PASSED.

"MOM?"

Nanami questioned, confused at his mother's appearance at his front door in the early morning.

"Your father is here too."
She said hastily, squeezing herself past the door and Nanami's frame trying to block his mess of a house. His mother struggled with her and her husband's luggage, Nanami didn't offer any help. Instead he scrubbed his eyes, trying to sober up from his drunken night.

Her unexpected arrival meant Nanami had no chance to hide his empty bottles in an attempt to hide his addiction. He was pretty sure she knew, between Gojo and Suzume's calls to his mother, it almost always resulted in his mother calling him late in the night, mostly answering with the question are you drunk? Nanami was never honest. His mother let out a deep, gutted disappointed sigh, follow by a hurtful singular cry upon seeing the empty glasses bottles littered across the house.

"I didn't know you were coming..."
Nanami mumbled, ashamed of himself. He started to close his door when he heard his father's voice.

"Woah there, son. Don't close the door on your old man."
Nanami's father joked as he walked into the apartment.
"Woah..."
He mumbled upon seeing the mess.

Nanami went to try and shut the door one final time, when an annoyed voice called out.
"Hey! Don't shut me out!"
Suzume half hollered, roughly pushing the door open, then closing herself. She instantly sighed seeing the bottles.

"Are you the reason they're here?"
Nanami asked with irritated at the woman. She glanced around the house with a playful, confused look at her face with a pout, before she gave a singular nod.

"Yes. I figured they could join us tonight for dinner."
Suzume said, making Nanami roll his eyes. He knew her tactic. It was painfully obvious that she thought she was being smart by inviting Namami's parents. She thought the action would make him propose.

After the greetings settled down and he helped his parents into his guest room in the apartment, Nanami and his father sat on the couch, while his mother and Suzume cleaned his apartment. He stared at his dirty coffee table, that was cluttered with beer bottles, newspaper and split coffee, his head hung in shame, listening to his mother and Suzume complain about him.
His father glanced over at the man before he loudly cleared his throat.

"You know, son... my father had a similar problem, it runs in our bloodline. You really should be careful."
Nanami's father lightly scolded.

Nanami wanted to sob. He closed his eyes, slightly shaking his head at his father's words.
When his father finished his speech, he got up off the couch.
