"WHERE IS SHE?"

Nanami ran over to Gojo and Utahime who sat together in the emergency room. He asked the question with fear, rush, and worry.

"They just took her for surgery."
Gojo got up from his seat, placing his hands on Nanami's arm as a comfort mechanism.

"Surgery!? Why does she need surgery!?"
Nanami's voice rose as his panic started to spread.

"Nanami, our office is on the eleventh floor. If it wasn't for Utahime softening her fall with her cursed energy, she would've died instantly."
Gojo tried to explain to Nanami. The blonde glanced over Gojo's shoulder at the woman who sat, her glaze fixed on the floor, reliving the moment.

Nanami took Gojo's hands off his person, taking a seat next to Utahime.
"Are you okay?"
He asked the girl but she simply shook her head, no. Nanami wrapped his arms around the girl, giving her a hug of comfort for both their own sake.

"Thank you for being there."
Nanami thanked the girl.
"I'm glad I was there."
Utahime whispered behind closed eyes, only able to see the moment Mieko's body impacted with her cursed energy. She opened her eyes, hoping for relief, but the whiteness of the hospital's walls and light only sadden her more.

Gojo tapped Nanami on his shoulder, making the man release Utahime from his hug. He beckoned for Nanami to follow him over away from Utahime, which the man did.

"I'm going to take Utahime home. Try to get her mind off of it. You can stay here for Mieko, right?"
Gojo asked, his voice barely audible from trying to hide his concern for the woman from her. Nanami nodded.

As the two walked back to where Utahime sat, Nanami took a seat while Gojo gently leaded Utahime up and out of the emergency room.
Nanami watched the two leave through the automatic doors with empty, heavy eyes. Slowly he leaned himself back into his chair, bringing his hands to his face, covering it. He applied pressure to his eyes, trying to stop himself from sobbing in front of everyone else that waited in the emergency room. Only a few minutes passed, but to Nanami it felt like a few sickening hours as he held his hands to his face, listening to all the natural noises to the hospital.

"Nanami?"
He heard his mother's voice. He slowly lowered his hands, looking up at his mother's concerned face, and his father's behind her.
"What's going on, son?"
He heard him say.

"If Suzume is here too, get her the fuck away."
Nanami demanded sternly, not answering their worry.

His mother sat down next to him as he spoke, and his father sat next to her.
"No, she went home. Why don't you want her here?"
His mother asked with a gentle voice.
