The Liar And Her Love

chapter 10:

-March 2020-

The ninth grade final exams just got over, they were supposed to be in high school, taeri was excited to see jimin after a very long time but a notice appeared on everyone's phone.

'the school has closed due to covid pandemic and will reopen after a week since the date of notice'

She hated weekeneds because she couldn't see him on those days. She would go to school everyday just to get a glimpse of him before the classes, after the classes, assemblies, recess or for leisure periods.

And this, a pandemic.
The week became a month and the month became a year. The seasons changed, they grew up, the first year of their high school went by sitting infront the camera. As the puberty hit, taeri faced some internal changes, she was heavier, and has wider hips, her secondary characters got more prominent and her she gained a lot of weight. To the cherry on the top, she developed acne, and was a pile of insecurities. It was the week before the finals and everyone was supposed to be at school. Taeri had a hoodie on, a cap, mask was mandatory anyway, her glasses, and baggy clothes.

Nobody could recognise her, she didn't talk to anyone, she didn't meet anyone. She went to study, she studied and she came back home. She didn't try to associate with anyone. This went on for a week, jimin noticed this. By the end of the year, she was absolutely not recognisable.

-Aug'2033-

Taeri was sleeping on her bed, her pillows had a wet spot. The satin covers were always wet, she moved a little before waking up. She checked the time and it was 6 am, she slept at 3 am last night.

"RYAN!!!!" she screamed and there was no response. "Ryan!!!" She called him out again and this time there was.

"Noona, I'm literally in the kitchen, get up already, I'm already in my uniform, you can go back to sleep, I'll leave myself if you don't want to wake up" he said in a loud voice hoping she heard it.

"NO! WAIT FOR ME. I TOOK A BATH YESTERDAY, I DONT HAVE TO TODAY. I'LL BE THERE IN 5 MINUTES." Ryan rolled her eyes when he heard her.

She ran to her wardrobe while discarding her nightsuit on the way.

" What grudge does she hold against hygiene" he tskes while cutting a watermelon. He was in a black pant, a white shirt with a navy cardigan with a tie tucked in it and a navy blazer. A name tag with his name was over the blazer. His black hair were combed back and he was wearing his socks. His shoes were in the front foyer. Polished and neet.

Taeri was true to her, she was there in a bright plazzo pants a white shirt and a long beige blazer. She put her bag on the kitchen counter before taking her blazer out and put it beside the bag.

"You are not eating only watermelons, step back" she said and he did.

"I washed my hair yesterday so they are fresh, I'm grateful I don't look like a mess" she said and Ryan has to agree. She never took regular baths but was never untidy unlike someone he saw recently.

While she was talking to him, he leaned against the counter behind her and passed on ingredients as they talked. Within few minutes, she had made a chicken burrito. She didn't bother serving him in a plate she just passed one to him and took one.

He took a bite and it was ecstatic, taeri was excellent at making food from nothing without a recipe and in few minutes. "Noona, you should sell some food part time too" he says and taeri chuckled.

"I have to go to yeonhui University to submit my letter of acceptance, it will be my first day too" she says. Ryan pondered for a minute before he mentioned it. He really don't want his sister to be a professor.

"Do you remember, sol i?" He asked. Taeri thought for a minute before nodded.

"Yeah that dumbass, if she was white, she would have been blond. No racism" she said putting her free hand up as if in surrender.

"Yeah, she is in Winston international, I met her mother and her in the Library yesterday" he said and taeri looked at him with confusion.

"There is no way she could pass the test." She said and Ryan nodded. "Yeah and they own the Library that I told you about recently" he said and she coughed.

"What? Where did they get that level of money to open that library." She said and both of them stared at each other.

"I'm certain there is some shit going on" he said and taeri sighed.

"Let them do, I don't care, I will not interfere in the business" she said and continued eating. Ryan kept silent while eating, when he was done he washed his hand and walked towards the foyer to wear his shoes. He grabbed his bag from the couch and spoke to her before moving towards the foyer.

"It's not about you taking part in the business but about the students who really deserved to study in Winston international" he said and he was gone.

While he was wearing his shoes, taeri didn't speak anything, she was thinking. When she was done, she too washed her hands and picked up her blazer and purse before she wore her heels in the foyer and left with Ryan.

The drive to his school wasn't long, it took them 20 minutes and she was pondering all the while, Ryan didn't disturb her thinking.

"Ryan" she calls and he hums.

"Mom and dad were not great people at least to us, to be fair I haven't mourned a single day for them, winston blue was like a child to her and Winston education fund was a gift to her own father. I couldn't care less about their empire but Winston education fund is not for rich kids to have fun, it's for talented kids to be nurtured in the environment they deserve and more than that I really hate when people have the audacity to misuse and feel entitle about something that absolutely belongs to me. Winston education fund is top to bottom absolutely mine, I have not sold a single share of it and I will not let anyone misuse it." She says to Ryan who had a smile. He knows his sister if not for humanity, she at least has a huge ego and she hates sharing.

When they reached the gates, they noticed the students walking in, a lot of them were in Porsche cars, this alarmed taeri. It can't be a coincidence that so many rich kids come here.

All the cars didn't enter the school so when taeri tried to drive the car inside the guards stopped her, they jogged around to see who is in and when the man did he immediately bowed, taeri lazily moved her head and nodded. The other guards understood it and opened the baricade.

All the students saw the car driving, only the dean or the chairman of the school fund drives the car in. She drove it to the gate and parked it in the empty area before the ground. The school was like a huge castle with an enormous ground and flower gardens. All the students looked neet.

Taeri stepped out of the car and so did Ryan. He played along his sister, and made a main character entry. The bag with only one strap on while his sister had black shades, the straps of her louis Vuitton in her hand, a scarf on her bag and long steady steps.

Oh how he always knew, she was the centre of attention and she was aware of it and also loved every minute of it.
