"Dr. Seo Taeri" Ryan repeated again. He has been chanting since he attended my doctoral ceremony.

He was having a beer when I dropped the question.

"Ryan you haven't attended school since you found out about your issues. It has been 3 years. You should start with your high school, it's okay if you are 18 now and you will be 21 by the time you finish. It's okay." I said taking a sip from my beer he looked at me.

"I'm a burden to you" he said and I laughed out loud.

He was perplexed.

"About time you realised that." I said and he got upset.

"I'm kidding Ryan. You are my only family to be honest, you are not my burden, you are my responsibility. I will raise you whatsoever, you never have to work a day in your life but I think you should atleast finish schooling. Our parents messed up pretty bad, while I desperately finished my PhD you literally just dropped out post middle school. I won't force you for college, I'm proud that you learnt coding and etc when you dropped out but I want you to finish school and after that college, it's your choice. I will not force you for anything, I can only request and support. You are a genius please don't let them ruin you even after they are dead" I said and he listened to me.

"You want me to start high school at 18? People finish high school at 18" he said and I smiled.

"People also finish PhD at 30 or 40 or even 60. I did that at 25" I said and he smiled.

"The semester has already started"

"It's okay, there are always some late admissions" I said and chugged my beer.

"Moreover you have crossed puberty, your high school would go much smoother" I said and he laughed.

"I literally have PTSD and my trigger is elder woman, more specifically woman. High school romance? Forget it." He said and I laughed again.

"We are most definitely going to end our bloodline" I said and he laughed too. Both of us calmed down and I said what I wanted to.

"I'm going to say it only once in our whole life. So do not ask me to repeat it." I said and he looked confused.

"You are good looking and you are also kind not to mention your wealth. You'll get a girl" I said and he hooted loudly.

"OH MY GOD. MY NOONA COMPLIMENTED ME. OH GOD HOW COULD I NOT RECORD IT OH MY GOD. NOONA ONCE MORE PLEASE PLEASE"

and only laughs echoed.

The children were taken out to prepare for the athletic meet I had no idea they wouldn't listen to us.

The parents sat in a circle talking about themselves, introducing each other.

Engineers, bankers, civil servant. What not.

Each of the parents introduced themselves and talked about what they do. The dads and then their mothers, most mothers were homemakers but atleast they were there.
