The december me who thought the last three months were dramatic would never believe what happened after that.

Absolute mayhem, no one would have believed it.

But whatever it's over. It has been a few weeks since I came to New York for Cornell. That dumbass jungkook followed me as well. He got into NYU and venessa got into cornell too. (There may or may not have been a little magic involved with her answers) but that doesn't matter.

Jungkook is 3 hours away from us and both of them meet a lot. (Every weekend)

But honestly, I haven't been able to find anyone attractive at all. Me and venessa share a flat, mom bought us. There is a guy who lives next to us. A Korean guy, I know he works for my mom.

My paranoia is going wild but I'm sure because my brother confirmed. He calls mom everyday to tell her what I do.

Venessa has been rude to the guy ever since the discovery.

Currently ven was making a lasagne while jungkook was cleaning the living room. He came over to stay with me.

I was writing my report and lifted my legs when Jungkook came to vacuum.

When the phone beside me rang. It was jungkook's. I looked at it and it was Ae in. Oh god, I haven't met her in a while. The last time I talked to her was the day I left.

"Jungkook you are getting a call, it's Ae in though" I said.

"Why is your friend calling me. Pick it up I am busy" he said and continued with work.

"it's Ae in" I cheered and picked up the call.

Jungkook and venessa said nothing but smiled. I picked up the call and put that near my ears.

"Hello!!! Oh my god ae in!"

But the next thing that followed shattered my heart. The phone slipped from my ears to the floor, jungkook flinched and venessa looked suprised. My mind was blank.

What the fuck did I hear!?.

"What the hell!? Taeri are you fine!?" Jungkook said and picked up the phone.

"Taeri, what happened" ven said and came closer.

And I looked up.

"Ae in died in an accident. She is dead." I said.

And there was silence. I have never seen death, of a closed one at that? Never happened.

This is the first time someone close to me has died. Why was the call made to jungkook though not me?

Before I knew it, I was packing up to return. I was going to turn 19 in a week. I guess, It was never in my fate to turn 19 with my best friend.

Jimin pov

I was extremely embarrassed after crying on her shoulder. There was a visible tear strain on her shoulder and she couldn't care less about it about it.

The drive to the departmental store was very quiet. Sarang was weirdly quite as well. "Isn't Sarang like 6 years old?" She asked me and I nodded.

"Yes, I was around 22ish when she was born" I replied.

"She should be in first grade or something" I said and hummed back.

"She is in kindergarten, there was summer vacation going on. It has been a 2-3 weeks since she went back" I answered still not looking at her.

I know she was just trying to make me comfortable.

"Oh okay" but she was equally awkward too, the red blush on her face gave it away.

She parked her car and we entered the store. Sarang was extremely happy after looking at the departmental store.

"Okay let's start with putting her in play zone." Taeri said and looked at me.

"I read it online, kids need to be put in the play zone, while shopping so the parents don't get tired and can shop freely and the baby doesn't get bored either" she said and held her hands.

She read that online? I barely held my laugh back.

"Play zone is costly and they basically capitalise on the fact that parents don't-" she cut me off.

"Saranga do you wanna go to the play zone?" She asks.

Sarang looked at me "appa sarangheo but Sarang sarangheo play zone too. I can sarangheo at home." She said and continued walking with Taeri.

What the fuck.

Why is she turning into a Taeri-

Both of them just walked away with the sass.

Minutes later we were at the play zone. Taeri was lookinga the menu. They literally has different plans.

"Just choose the cheap-"

"My baby is not going to just take something cheap" she interrupted me again.

I didn't even bother. We are talking about Taeri, she has never let anyone boss her until now and that's not happening soon too.

"Give her the unlimited pack and she better come out smiling and laughing" she said and looked at the employees.

They had recognised her as soon as they saw her and before the excitement of meeting seo Taeri could die they were bestowed upon with the duties of making the little girl happy.

They hurried in Sarang waved us bye with a smile.

Then she turned around towards me. "Okay let's go" she said and walked ahead of me, while I followed her.

She paused and turned around to look at me before she took small steps back and marched pace with me and then walked along side me.

I smiled a little.
She goes steps ahead, walking past everyone and takes a few steps back to return to me.

What have I ever done to receive the affection she gives me.

What if I didn't hesitate back then, what could our life have been like.

What if I was a little more smarter.
