His new album came out on twenty fifth, one week before my dad's scheduled op.

Actually, he had given me a sneak preview of some songs and videos snippets.

Like he said, he was trying a totally different style but something that he really wanted to do. Hopefully for him, it would work out well.

"Here's the file you've asked for Yoon Shinyeop," Mandy came into my office.

"Thanks," I said.

"Dinner tonight?" she asked.

"You are not on duty?"

"I'm on morning shift this week."

"Cool. Okay."

"And maybe Kevin might come too," she added.

I raised an eyebrow. "Are you and Kevin finally together?"

"I told you, there's nothing between me and Kevin. I'm not the one he's interested in."

I just smiled.

"Don't smile," she said irritably to me.

I continued typing my report.

"How's things between you and your friend?"

"Okay."

"Any more concert tickets?"

"Are there any concerts coming up?" I asked instead.

She shook her head. "Do you have a picture of your friend?"

"Why?"

"Just curious. Why don't you ask him to join us for dinner tonight?"

"Why?"

"Why are you so secretive..." she asked suspiciously. "I'm beginning to suspect if this person really exist."

"No, he doesn't. It's all your imagination."

She chuckled. "Anyway, I'm serious. Ask him for dinner tonight."

"He's not free."

She raised an eyebrow. "And you know? You don't need to check with him first?"

"He's working tonight," I said.

"Hmm.. looks like you are very familiar with his schedule," she teased.

I shrugged.

Just then, there was a knock on my door. And a head popped in. It was one of the second year residents.

"Dr Lee?"

"Yes?" I looked up.

"Dr Seo says, you should go to OT twelve."

OT twelve? That's the observing OT. What does he want me to observe?

"It's your father," she added.

I immediately jumped to my feet.

If Dr Seo sent such a message to me, it could only mean that it's not good news.

I dashed out of my office and hurried to OT twelve as fast as my short legs could carry me.

When I got there, it was bustling down in the OT. Dr Seo and his assistants and the nurses were there. He looked up for a moment and saw me, then he went back to work again.

"Suction!" he barked.

Assessing the situation, I could only guess that it must be another rupture again. To be honest, when I operated on my dad last month, I could see that his condition was critical. I should have done that valve replacement there and then. I cursed under my breath.
