Chapter 8

Gunfire erupted as Ezra jumped behind cover "w-where'd he get that." The hunter said frightened by the weapon a dark chuckle was heard something guardians hear in their worst nightmares, then a saber clashed with the cover poking a hole right near the hunter's head "EZRA?!" A yell was heard, a familiar voice but he couldn't place it. That's when the hunter awoke with a gasp looking around from Sabine's room his breath was uneven "w-what was that." he said clearly shaken from the dream he made his way out of bed to the lounge where he sat and caught his breath Sam didn't bother trying to console him she knew better. He wanted to forget that dream so much but he couldn't help it something brought him back to that moment feeling the darkness in the form of a man.

The hunter held out his hand and a stack of cards transmated to his hand he began shuffling the deck before playing solitaire "Ezra, what are you doing?" A voice asked from his left. The hunter turned to see Hera in pajama like clothing he looked back down as he kept playing  "you should be sleeping." Ezra said, Hera sat across from him and patted the table as if to say deal me some cards "I could say the same." she commented watching the hunter collect the cards before shuffling the stack of cards dealing four cards to her and four to himself all cards faced down he took a look at his cards picking them up he made a scared look folding the hand revealing that he had a dead man's hand the pilot watched as the hunter collected the cards. Hera couldn't help but sigh before speaking "Ezra, I know for the past couple of weeks you and Sabine have spent... most nights in her room." She stated the hunter held up a hand "whoa, whoa, whoa, Hera friends that want to stay friends Don't talk about Politics, Religion, for me you can add love lives." The hunter explained dealing the cards to the both of them.

Hera rolled her eyes "No! Ezra, stars no. I know it's not my place to talk to you about that stuff, you're both adults." she paused to take a breath before starting again "What I'm trying to say that just like that, I've noticed you going into her room, I also noticed you sneaking out every night for the past week. What's going on?" She asked taking a look at her cards Hera's pokerface hiding the fact that she was pleased with her cards Ezra sighed and rubbed his eyes "I've been having these dreams." He stated taking a look at his cards "oh?" Hera said she noticed the hunter fiddling around with his left hand as he held the card it was subtle so subtle the average person would over look it, but not her she grabbed the hunter's hand seeing the Ace up his sleeve literally "hehe caught me, I'm impressed, the only person to ever catch me was also a pilot." The hunter said clearly in awe of the pilot's perception "Ezra the dreams, what's going on?" She asked in an orderly manner Ezra sighed "it's strange I see my friend, Crow fighting a black armored individual his ghost Glint shattered on the ground." The hunter explained the pilot took her hand off his wrist "by the way next time you cheat at the game, I'll take your hand off for the rest of the game." She threatened causing a nervous chuckle out of the hunter "O-Ok, Deal." Ezra said picking up his cards and standing to his feet.

Hera didn't say anything walking over to her room, Ezra paused. He looked at the door leading to Sabine's room it was late and they had a mission in the morning. Opening the door to her room, Ezra stepped inside and closed it behind him. He couldn't help but smile as he saw the back of Sabine's head as she faced the wall nice and comfortable under the blanket, he walked over to the bed and quietly slid inside. He couldn't help but slide his arm around her waist and kiss her cheek. Sabine hummed as she backed up slightly into him, he smiled as he felt her hair tickle his nose.

Timeskip

Back in his mission gear Ezra, Sabine, and Kanan
Were lying down on the top of a bridge and looked closely at the base of the tower, trying to find a weakness "There it is." Kanan said with a smile "The Empire's main communications tower on Lothal. It routes comm from every Imperial operation on the planet, including the Empire's holonet broadcasts." He explained "I got bucketheads." Sabine said as she looked through her helmets scanner "I see them got a pretty clean shot just saying."the hunter said using the scope of Whisper to scope out the area "hmm tempting, look over there, on the perimeter and there at least three anti-ship batteries around the base. Not an easy trip to the front door." she said with a sigh Kanan tilted his head at her "hey, don't underestimate us that much." He said the hunter scoffed "I've infiltrated more with less. Say we get to the front door. What then?" Ezra asked "I... I could upload a data spike into the central computer and have that transmitter operational in I don't know, five minutes?" She said hesitantly "yikes, can we get it done faster?" The hunter asked putting his reticle on a trooper's head he made a noise of a gun going off with his mouth.
