Shroud of Darkness

Thunder crashed as sabers connected Ezra and Kanan were fighting the inquisitors. The hunter was fighting the woman with a mix of Hawkmoon and his Murasama "I'm thinking this planet's not going to work out as a base after all." The hunter said going on offense taking quickfang in place for his Hawkmoon "seeing that the key part of secret base is the secret location, no it will not work out. Where's Chopper?" Kanan asked his voice filled with frustration "I had Sam signal him. He's either lost or ignoring us." Ezra said using his Murasama to defend and his quickfang for poking attacks which put the hunter on the offensive "oh, he's not lost. Cross!" Kanan shouted making the hunter push the lady back before running to him using the force the Jedi pushed Ezra towards the male Inquisitor using the dual stance he managed to put him out of commission at least for a bit before he himself used the force to push Kanan towards the female the man stood up slamming his Saber into the hunter's reactivated one he tried poking quickfang into the man but the blade was caught by the inquisitor Ezra didn't have the sword ammo for a heavy so he stayed on the defensive "such a handsome face." The lady inquisitor said looking at Kanan "I don't go for crazy anymore." He said in retaliation "that's alright, I prefer brains." She said as her little droid companion climbed on top of the Jedi's head pulling up making him go on a dodging defensive the hunter noticed and kicked the male away quickly pulling out Hawkmoon and firing towards the droid and inquisitor who blocked the hot lead and was burned by it making her turn her head giving the hunter a better shot at the droid knocking it off Kanan's head. Suddenly the hunter was tossed through the air he tried to use his triple jump to get back to the fight and missed the edge almost falling over if not for Kanan who grabbed a hold of his leg "I got you! I got you!" He said trying to pull him up hearing the female laugh the hunter immediately thought of a plan "Ezra, I need you up here!" The Jedi yelled looking back at the two "I'm a little busy here." Ezra said trying to use the force to get the animals there to help before he was tossed to the sky "woah!" He shouted flipping his body and grabbing the hand of the Jedi "Up on three?" Kanan asked the hunter nodded "One... two... three..." they alternated until they hit three saying it unison Ezra activated Murasama as he was thrown to past the two inquisitors the female turned her attention to him "good news I got us a ride. Come on!" Ezra said as he kicked back the female running away from them and using the force to collect Quickfang. As they ran Kanan shook his head "I don't like this." He said as they neared the edge "just get ready to jump!" Ezra exclaimed "jump? You're crazy!" Kanan said the hunter scoffed "I'm not crazy I'm a hunter." Ezra said jumping off the edge holstering his Murasama as the two fell Kanan screaming along the way until they landed on the back of a flying stingray creature.

Flying away from the conflict Kanan scratched the back of his head "this was you?" He asked the hunter shrugged "yeah. Not bad, huh?" Ezra asked with a smirk as Chopper swooped in with The Phantom "after you." The Jedi said with a chuckle the hunter looked down to the creature "thanks for the lift." He said before they departed the animal and into the Phantom which flew off planet going straight into hyperspace leaving the system. Ezra sat down and sighed that, was a close one." He said leaning back "yeah, another close one." The Jedi said looking to his saber then to space "what's wrong amigo?" The hunter asked taking off his helmet "everywhere we go we run into those guys, and I don't like it. If this keeps up, we'll never be able to help the rebels establish a base. At least not as long as we're with them." Kanan explained "so, what are we going to do about it?" Ezra asked leaning forward "I don't know. But it's endangering the whole squadron. We're going to need advice on this." Kanan said looking back the hunter raised a brow not knowing what he could mean.

The Phantom docked back on The Ghost and the two climbed down the ladder "well, you two seem fine. How's The Phantom?" Hera asked "Ask Chopper he was flying." Ezra said walking past her "oh, boy." Hera said and Zeb pointed to the hunter with his tool "so, kid, you find us a base yet?" He asked Ezra rolled his eyes "no, but we did find two inquisitors."the guardian said walking past him "oh, that's nothing new." The lasat said, Hera turned to Kanan "she's waiting for you. Why did you have to meet out here away from the fleet?" Hera asked worriedly Kanan looked down slightly "it's safer this way." He said cryptically poking around Ezra found Ahsoka in a room sitting next to a holoprojector "keeping your saber moving is the key to deflecting the fire of multiple adversaries. Fluid motion, one into the next, into the next, and so on. I've made some adjustments to the classic form 4 techniques that I think you'll find work well against droids and other ranged attackers. Here, I'll show you. One, two, three..." The man stated "he's pretty good, seen some of these to help with my own style." Ezra admitted for his style which he called Earth style it wasn't a fit for ranged attacks no sword style on earth was so he adapted "you should have seen him in person. Anakin Skywalker, he was my master." Ahsoka said Ezra's eyes widened "Kanan said he was the greatest warrior the Jedi had in the Clone Wars." He said with a nod of respect "He was powerful, rarely lost a battle. What would have surprised people was how kind he was. He cared deeply about his friends. And looked out for them until the end." Ahsoka said looking down sadly "practice these exercises mindfully, and you'll see improvement, I promise." The recording of Anakin said "do you know what happened to him?" Ezra asked making Ahsoka look down in sadness "the last time I saw him, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor. Then everything changed. The war ended and the Jedi were accused of treason. One by one, they were hunted down." She explained making the hunter furrow his brow "by the inquisitors." The hunter said "or worse." She added making the hunter shiver remembering Vader and the darkness he radiated before the door opened revealing Kanan "speaking of inquisitors... Ahsoka, what do you think about us doing the hunting for a change?" Kanan asked making Ezra widen his eyes "I'll take that as proof that Guardians are better then Jedi." Ezra said getting a hand that said 'later' "when you defeated one, two more came. Who's to say we wouldn't be multiplying our problems yet again?" Ahsoka said making the hunter shrug "and then there's Vader." The hunter said making Kanan more determined "I don't disagree. But the fact remains, we can't protect our friends from Vader and his Inquisitors. I can barley protect you." The Jedi said with a smirk looking at the hunter who rolled his eyes "what part of I can comeback from death do you not understand?" The hunter asked annoyed "it's times like these that Anakin and I would turn to someone like Obi-Wan or Master Yoda. They always had the answer. Well, almost always." Ahsoka said looking down "then maybe we should ask Master Yoda." Kanan said making the hunter and former Jedi raise a brow.
