Chapter 23

Through the city of Lothal Ezra, Chopper, and Kanan were doing recon on a building so no imperial could see them, the hunter held Whisper using it as telescope "look at all those ships. Ryder said it was bad, but this is worse than bad." He said looking back "even though I haven't lived here since I became a guardian, it's hard to see a place like this." Ezra continued "so let's do something about it." Kanan said with a shrug "if only Ryder would hurry up and get here." The hunter said as a beeping was heard from Chopper and he he grunter moving the hunter's arm down and to the left seeing Ryder in a car like vehicle being shot at "there he is. And he's been spotted." Ezra notified and the two began running across rooftops as he sped through and past a walker he looked up to the two "hurry, get on!" Ryder yelled making the hunter and Jedi jump to the vehicle and Chopper to use his thrusters to fly into the passenger seat "look out blockade!" Ezra exclaimed as they neared it immediately getting shot at by the turret there the trooper fired to the two on the top of the vehicle instead if the vehicle itself missing as they did a quick U-turn. Upon completion of it Ezra unholstered Fatebringer firing a shot into the trooper before firing in the middle of the scout troopers making them split around them and follow behind the hunter fired Fatebringer at them but the constant swaying of the vehicle made his aim wonky a explosion infront of him made him turn to the walker above firing at them. Ryder turned the hovering vehicle horizontally to move through the legs of the walker letting Ezra and Kanan use their sabers to cut both legs of the vehicle as the vehicle turned back to it's normal position. Ryder gave a chuckle "sure id good to have you back on Lothal." He said looking to the two Kanan turned his head to the former governor "I think you're the only one who feels that way, Ryder." Kanan said as they sped down the highway out of the city two speeders in hot pursuit.

The two speeders followed the men the hunter looked back to Ryder "uh, Ryder? What's the plan? We can't outrun these guys." Ezra said making the man look back "don't need to outrun 'em. Just have to get 'em up to 190." He said making Kanan look to the older man "does thing go up to 190?" Kanan asked blocking a blaster shot "sometimes. Think fast thoughts." Ryder said as the console on the speeder started beeping and a scout trooper hit the left engine making it sputter and Chopper to grunt frustratedly as the two on the vehicle blocked blaster bolts the hunter looked back "I'm thinking fast thoughts nothing is happening." He said annoyed as they continued "keep watching." Ryder said, they sped up and the hunter looked to the orange engine on the speeder bike he smirked as it blew up "those bikes are from the imperial factory. I have people on the inside who build them to break." The former governor said "you've infiltrated the assembly line? I'm impressed." Kanan said making Ezra put a hand to where his chin was "that's the perfect cover to do some serious damage." Ezra said with a nod "I wish I could take credit. Idea came from an old friend of your Parents." Ryder said as they sped off to his home/base.

Timeskip

The speeder stopped inside the cluster of mountain formations the hunter noticed the back of the head of a man he recognized him "it's you from the train." Ezra said as he got closer holding his hand out he shook the hand of the hunter "Ezra Bridger. I recognized that voice any day, since you saved us." The man said bringing the hunter into a hug "no problem, mind telling me your name?" Ezra asked making the man scoff "after all these years you forget? Doesn't matter call me Mr. Sumar." He introduced "I wanted to thank you by the way, thanks to you I got a chance to make a difference against the Empire. Your parents would be so proud to see you now." Sumar said making the hunter look down sadly his helm shielding his emotions "and they'd agree there's much more we can do. Tell them about your plan." Ryder said with a nod the hunter took off his helm "Phoenix Squadron is enlisting help from another rebel cell to take out the imperial factory here on Lothal." He explained looking to Sumar who raised a brow "an attack?" He asked as the two behind him voiced their opinions "finally/at last." The two said at the same time "when will this strike happen?" Ryder asked looking to Kanan "soon, hopefully. It depends on what we learn while we're here." Kanan informed as Ezra turned to Sumar "out contact, Fulcrum, said the empire's building a new type of weapon. If we knew what it was, the other cells might agree to attack sooner than later." Ezra said making the older man put a hand to his chin "they did just tighten security around section A-2, transferred their best workers over there. That must be why they had to recruit us to their labor force." Sumar said as Sam popped out above the hunter's shoulder "can you get us into that factory?" She asked before Kanan did "well, I don't know. Do you have any manufacturing experience?" Sumar asked the hunter "kind of, but not really." The hunter said shrugging causing a chuckle from Rydee "then you'll fit right in." Ryder said with a smug look.
