The six stood off getting ready for someone to make the first move "so, the rumors are true, Darth Maul lives." The female inquisitor said as Maul stepped forward "formerly Darth, now just Maul." He said Kanan looked to the hunter "Ezra step away from him!" Kanan warned hand out "Kanan he's on our side for now, the enemy of my enemy is my friend." He quoted "perhaps my actions will speak louder than words." Maul said taking a saber from his cane jumping towards the inquisitors striking on with his foot after a deflection before fighting the skinny one "what are we waiting for?" Ezra asked as Maul easily fought off these three attackers performing blocks that led into kicks to knock them back and dodges that led into attacks "why would you come here?" The female inquisitor asked causing the tall and grey one to speak "he knows of the artifact!" He said as he moved in Kanan blocked his attack causing them to be in a saber lock Ahsoka did the same with the skinny inquisitor male locking blades with him "the holocron, do you have it?" He asked looking to Maul "you will find out soon enough." Maul said as the female inquisitor pushed the man back with a shove of the blade before Maul tried to attack leading her to dodge and flee her comrades did the same using their saber's as helicopter blades flying off.

Kanan and Ahsoka stepped towards the former Sith "Maul, what hame are you playing?" The former Jedi asked not trusting the old man "the end game, Lady Tano." Maul said tossing his walking stick away "the end game." He said again looking off towards the direction the inquisitors fled "I am the enemy of your enemy now, and I have my own reasons for wanting the empire to fall. But we have little time. The one they call Vader will be here soon." Maul explained looking down as he deactivated his saber Kanan raised a brow "how do you know this?" The Jedi Knight asked "his dogs will tell him where we are. 'Two Jedi and a part timer.' Oh he will come. He will not be able to resist us." The old man said making Kanan shake his head "okay, hold on, there is no 'us.' Dealing with inquisitors is one thing, Vader is another. And I'm not convinced we're all on the same side anyway." Kanan said looking to the hunter who understood "Kanan, it pains me to say this but we should trust him. Look! He and I took this from the temple together! This is why we came here, right? To find about the sith. To find a way to beat them." The Hunter persuaded holding out the holocron "Ahsoka yoy said we came for knowledge." He continued before the former Jedi sighed "Ezra, there is no way a Jedi can unlock that holocron." She explained causing Maul to speak up "but you may unlock the temple itself." He said the hunter looked to Kanan then to Maul "how? Tell us how." The hunter said the old man raised a hand towards the top "at the top of the temple is a chamber. Connect the holocron to the obelisk within and you can unlock the ancient knowledge of the sith." He explained moving past them "why are you working so hard to keep us here?" Ahsoka asked with a raised brow the man stopped "I cannot defeat Vader alone." Maul admitted making Ezra sigh he turned to Kanan "I say we stay with him." The hunter said making the Jedi knight raise a brow "yeah? Well, I say we go, so that settles it." Kanan said making the hunter roll his eyes he hear Maul scoff "are you such cowards that you would run from this chance to defeat your enemies? Who slaughter your friends?" Maul asked aggressively the hunter sighed "Kanan?" He asked using his index finger to say come here "look Kanan I get that you don't trust him but when we were in there Sam and I found something. A shard of The Traveler we need to keep going if we find another we have to have it." Ezra whispered making the Jedi sigh, he looked up to Ahsoka speaking with a simple nod of their heads before pulling his comm out "Chopper, we're staying for a while." Kanan informed the droid chirped "Yeah, I know it's a bad idea. Just scan for incoming ships, and keep the phantom out of sight." Kanan explained making the droid grunt and chirp "oh, how exciting. We're all on the same side." Maul said enthusiastically "just show us how to get to the top, and hurry." Kanan ordered as Maul walked forward "this way." He said leading them, none noticed the droid watching them.

Timeskip

Maul stopped next to a part of the temple Kanan raised a brow as they stopped "now what?" The Jedi knight asked before the former sith put his hand on the wall and it came down like an elevator the hunter followed Maul onto the platform Kanan tried to follow "only two no more, no less." Maul said making the hunter raise a brow "yeah? Well, these two come as a set." Kanan said pushing him off the platform staying with the hunter before looking to Ahsoka "you okay riding with Grandpa?" Kanan asked "I'll be fine." She said as Maul pressed on the temple sending the hunter and his mentor up "Ezra, listen to me, he's using you." He said making the hunter put his hand over where his mouth was in fake shock "noooo, really you think I was born yesterday? I noticed when he was pulling me up when I got the holocron." The hunter said rolling his shoulders making the Jedi sigh "as long as you.-" he started before Ezra pushed him aside "look out!" The hunter shouted as the skinny inquisitor came flying by kicking Kanan off the platform leaving the hunter with him Ezra looked to the man his look radiated speed the hunter activated his blade twisting the bottom making it turn from it's arc blue to a void purple it shrunk in appearance making more like a wakizashi instead of the Katana it was and he went into attacking the man with speed and elegance before after a block he was kicked towards the edge falling over he barely grabbed a hold dangling from it "give me the holocron!" The inquisitor shouted deactivating his blade before making it resemble a saw blade.
