The Holocrons of fate

Ezra and Kanan walked through Commander Sato's ship "come on I'm just curious what did you do with it?" Ezra asked the Jedi knight rolled his blind eyes as he heard the hunter speak "I told you it was safe." Kanan said making the hunter sigh "but what if there are secrets in there can help us destroy the sith?" The hunter asked making the Jedi shake his head "Ezra, the secrets in that thing almost destroyed you." Kanan explained making the hunter sigh "I know. But if not to get the sith holocron, why did Master Yoda send us to Malachor?" Ezra asked thinking there must be more to it "we asked for a chance to defeat the sith, and we failed." The Jedi knight explained "coming up on the rendezvous point, commander but the transport's not responding." The pilot asked as they exited hyperspace the ship looked damaged "I know your blind got you got to see this." The hunter said as they looked at the transport ship smoking the ship went to dock.

When Kanan and Ezra got onto the transport the hunter summoned Sam to help look "woah must of been one hell of a fight." Ezra said as Sam scanned around "I can smell the carbon scoring." Kanan said walking forward until a electronic beeping caught his ears "over here." Kanan said as Ezra came to the door opening it revealing an astromech and a groaning man the hunter jumped over the box blocking them and the man "hang on, all right? Sam get over here!" The hunter yelled as the ghost flew over scanning the man "what happened here?" Ezra asked as the man groaned in pain "red... red blade. After you... made me tell... The Ghost is in danger." The man said making the hunter look to Kanan "another inquisitor?" Ezra asked before his mind drifted "Sabine." He said softly "we've got to warm Hera." Kanan said as they made it back to Sato's ship "Got The Ghost for you now, sir." The comms specialist said "Hera! Am I glad to see you're alright." Ezra said thankfully "Kanan." Hera stated "there's another Inquisitor after us. He knows where The Ghost is." Kanan explained before noticing the look on Hera "Kanan, it's not an inquisitor." She said as she was pushed out of the way by a familiar hand "oh, no." Ezra said "what? Who is it?" Kanan asked before the voice spoke "Just an old friend, Master Jedi." Maul said with a smirk making the hunter scowl "Maul. Your lucky I'm not there right now you betrayed me." The hunter said making the former sith smirk "no I betrayed your friends. But I would have remained loyal to you." He said making the hunter roll his eyes "what do you want?" Kanan asked seeing this was a barter now "the sith holocron that our apprentice and I acquired on. Malachor." Maul said making the Jedi cross his arms "we don't have it." Kanan said truthfully "how unfortunate, because if that's true, then your friends have no future." Maul said activating his saber as the screen panned out revealing the crew tied up "okay, we have it. Just not with us." Ezra said in a panic seeing his girl and friends bound "we'll give it to you, as long as our friends remain safe." Kanan said as Maul nodded "agreed. Good. Oh, and one more thing, your Jedi holocron give that to me as well." Maul said Hera looked up "Kanan, no." She said the Jedi looked down "fine." He said with a scowl on his face controlling his anger "I shall be in touch with coordinates for our rendezvous. Don't disappoint me." Maul said ending the transmission "I can't believe you told Maul I have a holocron." Kanan scolded "at the time, he was on our side. Is it still on The Ghost?" Ezra asked making the Jedi scoff "where else would I keep it?" Kanan asked as he sat down "well, what about the sith holocron?" Sam asked as she popped out "yeah, that's not going to be easy." Kanan admitted making the hunter look to the ghost "thought you said it was safe?" They asked in unison "it is safe. That may be the problem." Kanan said cryptically making the ghost and hunter look at one another.

Scene change

The Ghost was going through hyperspace as Maul stared at one of the art pieces Sabine made "I assumed that this ship was merely a transport, but I realize it is much more than that. This is your home." The former sith acknowledged "you looking to move in?" Zeb asked sarcastically as the man turned "captain, would it be rude of me to request a tour of your ship?" Maul asked walking towards the three "well, the airlock is down there, if you want to see yourself out." Hera said annoyed that he would ever ask her that "show me around. I insist." Maul said pointing the hilt of his saber towards her face "no!" Zeb said trying to break the cuffs "Hera, don't." Sabine said shaking her head "Mandalorian, you of all should trust me. For did I not once rule your people?" Maul said making Sabine narrow her eyes whilst looking down. Hera stood to her feet shifting her head telling the former sith to follow he obliged leaving the Lasat and Mando alone with his droids "is that true?" Zeb asked making Sabine sigh "unfortunately." She said sadly "Where does one who hides his identity hide his legacy?" Maul asked as the door opened to Zeb's room "that is a curious smell." He stated as the pilot turned making the door close as she walked to the other side of the hall revealing the room that Sabine and Ezra shared "how colorful." Maul stated seeing the art all over before Hera moved down Maul stopping her making her sigh as she walked to Kanan's room "ah, yes. This is it. A dull and dour chamber. These are the quarters of a Jedi. Show me where he keeps the holocron." The old man said making Hera shake her head "I don't know anything about him." She lied making Maul tsk "that's not true. You know all about Kanan Jarrus. Or should I use his real name? Caleb Dume." He said before using the force on Hera's head "yes, it was your idea to recruit the apprentice. And it was from here the boy found..." he said before his ability pulled something he wasn't trying to "what's this dead and came back? Hmmm improbable but interesting what a curious young man my apprentice is." Maul said with a smirk as he knelt near the bed "back to the matter at hand, he didn't find it. No, he stole the holocron." Maul said using the force to make the secret compartment open while laughing holding the holocron up "that wasn't so difficult, was it?" Maul said giving Hera a look making the pilot look away.
