Chapter 25. Leeches Part 2

Christopher's P.O.V

Keanu's words were still fresh in my mind. I took a shower to relax my mind and body. Evander was staring at the television screen when I walked out of the bathroom. I stroked Evander's head and asked, "Is everything alright, Van?" Evander sighed and replied, "Keanu is in the hospital. The doctor said that he is anemic." I huffed and said, "I don't care about him. He would probably kill my child to save his own if he had a chance." Evander pulled me into his arms, then kissed my stomach. He smiled and stated, "I thought you would want to visit him. That is why I told you about what I saw. Promise me that you will never meet them alone, Chris."

I stared into Evander's eyes and declared, "I will never disobey you, Van. As you already know, my family has no interest in me. It's about time that I took a stand too." Evander rubbed his face on my chest and uttered, "That's good. I don't want anything to happen to you or our child." I sat on the bed and asked, "How do you want to continue our relationship now that you have confessed to me, Van?" Evander contemplated, then replied, "We will do everything together from now on. I want to know where you are and what you're up to every hour of the day."

I gasped and stated, "That's too extreme, Evander. Can't we have a normal relationship? Your men already monitor me like hawks. Shouldn't you trust me more? And if you are worried about my safety, then don't. My men have kept me safe until now." Evander groaned and said, "It seems like you have forgotten you are in imminent danger. I don't want to take risks, so please do as I say." I sighed while looking at Evander. He seemed anxious. I didn't want to trouble him more, so I agreed. Van checked on Maxim, then took a shower. My phone rang when I was about to sleep. I turned it off when I saw my mother's number. I fell asleep while waiting for Van.

Evander was gone when I woke up in the morning. I was surprised to see the fresh flowers on my nightstand. I got out of bed to check the card. I smiled when I read the text, "Good morning, sunshine. I hope you have a productive day." "Did he treat Luca like a king too?" I thought. Maxim ran into the room and yelled, "Breakfast is ready, papa! Daddy asked you to bathe me. He is busy." I picked up Maxim and kissed him all over his face. The boy giggled when I placed him in the bathtub. I went to check on Evander after getting ready. Van was on the phone with his assistant. He seemed troubled. I waited for Evander to finish his conversation, then asked, "Did something happen, Van?"

Evander pulled me into his arms and kissed me passionately. He caressed my lips with his thumb and said, "It's nothing to worry about. Maxim's biological father will soon realize what I'm capable of." I decided not to inquire further. I hugged Van tightly and uttered, "Thank you for the flowers, Van. They instantly improved my mood." Evander bit my neck and stated, "I want to have sex with you, Chris. I would like to know if it's safe. Can you contact Dr. Soren today? If you feel the same, of course." I walked to the door, then locked it. Evander looked in astonishment at me. He chuckled when I said, "You are pent-up. I can see that. We can't do much now, but I can at least help you release stress."

I led Evander to the one-seat sofa and pushed him down. Evander looked in a daze at me. I kissed Van intensely, then went down on my knees. Van caressed my cheek while I unbuckled his belt. He gasped when I licked the tip of his member. Evander closed his eyes to enjoy the moment. He bit his lip when I started releasing my pheromones. I was about to reply to Van when Maxim called out to us. I cupped Van's face and stated, "I'll see what he needs. Join us after freshening up." Maxim threw himself at me when I opened the door. He giggled and said, "Grandpa said he bought a handmade wooden train for me, papa. He has already sent it to us. Can you help me set it up when it arrives?"

I tickled the little boy and replied, "Of course, sweetheart. Let's make it a family project." Maxim squealed with delight. Van picked him up and brought him downstairs. We chatted with Maxim while eating. The little boy couldn't stop gushing about his gift. Evander and I left for work at the same time. Evander called me in the afternoon to inform me about his meeting with Aiden regarding his contract. I asked him to be careful because I didn't trust the man. I contacted Soren before I left the office. He advised me not to have rough sex. Evander would surely respect his wish.

Maxim was playing with his nanny when I arrived home. He waited till I had showered to approach me. We watched a movie together. It was almost dinnertime, and Evander hadn't come home. Evander had sent me the restaurant's address. I decided to check on him. I asked Maxim's nanny to feed the boy, then left. The restaurant was busy. I used the backdoor to get in. I suddenly felt anxious. It was like something awful was about to happen. The guy who had helped me get in led me to a private room. I lost my mind when the guy opened the door. Evander was unconscious, and Aiden was riding him. Aiden groaned when he saw me and yelled, "Why do you always have to spoil my fun?" I pushed Aiden off Evander, then kicked him. I pulled up Evander's pants, then patted his cheeks to wake him up. Van grabbed my throat suddenly and growled. His alpha side had taken over. I stroked Evander's head and said, "It's me, Van. Please, calm down."

Evander blinked, then hugged me tightly. He took in my scent and stated, "I'm sorry, darling. He used a potion to knock me unconscious." I frowned when Aiden laughed and declared, "It's too late. He already put his seed in me." I slapped Aiden and yelled, "You are disgusting! How far would you go to reach your goals, Aiden?" Evander grabbed his phone, then called his men. I rubbed my face in frustration and asked Van, "What if he gets pregnant, Evander?" Van threw his arms around me and stated, "It's my fault, Chris. I will take care of it. I will file criminal charges against him. Let's see if he survives in jail."

I felt like crying. Nothing was going well in my life. Evander's men came and dragged Aiden away. Evander's assistant handled everything after that. I took Evander home, then helped him bathe. I couldn't get the image of Aiden and Van out of my head. Evander pushed me down on the bed after drying off. He saddled me and uttered, "I'm sorry you had to see that, Chris. I'll understand if you want to leave me now. I don't deserve you." I pulled Van into my arms when he began crying. I kissed Evander's head and said, "You didn't know what Aiden was planning, Van. And I am so into you that I won't be able to live without you. Come on. Stop crying. It doesn't suit a powerful alpha like you."

Evander fell asleep on my chest. I truly hoped that Aiden's plan had failed. I didn't know if I could accept his child. I pushed Evander onto the bed, then covered him with a blanket. I needed to calm my mind. I walked to my piano room and started playing my favorite songs. I got startled when Maxim called out to me. The little boy climbed onto my lap and said, "Can you play "The Wheels on the Bus" for me, papa?" I laughed, then kissed Maxim's head. I stroked the boy's back and asked, "Having trouble sleeping, darling?" Maxim nodded, then closed his eyes. I got startled when Evander hugged me from behind and declared, "I love you, Chris. Please, don't ever leave me." I couldn't tell Evander that I had the same fears. I believed he would abandon me sooner than I would him.
