TRAVELER 12: Condition

[Pamela's POV]

January 23, 2023 - Monday

Alam kong darating ang panahon na aalis sila. Because the company introduced a new product that will focus not only on sack production but also on technology at sa probinsya naman iyon itinatayo. Hindi ko nga lang inaasahan na mas napabilis ang paglipat nila. That's why I transferred because Dylan had to accompany the rest of the team. He is constantly preoccupied with that big project. I couldn't help but be saddened by the news. Iba pa rin kung andiyan sila.    

Ngayong umaga, sinabi ni Ismael na pupunta kami ngayon sa oncologist ko. Bago ako sumalang sa operasyon, gusto niya munang malaman talaga ang mga kailangan. 

Nakakahiya man pero inihabilin muna ulit namin si Six kay ate Marina. Noong magpunta sina Sarah kahapon, nakipagkwentuhan rin ang mag-asawa sa kanila kaya nalaman na rin nila ang totoong lagay ko. Pero kahit nalaman nila, hindi nila ipinaramdam sa'kin ang maging malungkot. 

Huminga ako nang malalim bago buksan ang sasakyan habang tinitingnan sa tapat ang St. Francis' Medical Center. 

Naramdaman ko na lang ang paghawak ni Ismael sa kamay ko.

"Nandito lang ako." I took a peek at his hand before moving my sight to his face. His genuineness is visible there, and his presence makes me feel better. So, even though I was nervous, I was aware he is at my side.

Sabay naming tinahak ang kwarto ni Doc Hana.

Buti na lang at nagkataon na wala siyang ibang appointment ngayon. 

"Pasok, dear. Kamusta?" she greeted us, and Ismael nodded before taking a seat.

"Ahm, doc. Could you please discuss my situation with my husband again?" she nodded. Pinagsalikop pa nito ang mga kamay bago nagsalita. Ismael then remained focused.

"Okay. Based from the test results, her ovaries were covered with cancer. Kaya kailangan niyang  dumaan sa chemotheraphy and surgery."

"Nabanggit ko na sa kaniya ang kailangang paghandaan pero para mas clear, sasabihin ko ulit sa'yo, Mr?"

"Ismael"

"Okay, Mr. Ismael. Your wife's condition has advanced cancer.  Ibig sabihin, kumalat na ang cancer cells at marami ng tumor na nakapaligid sa ovary ni Mrs. Rhayne.  As a result, we cannot have surgery right now. It's complicated. Her life may be at risk. So she must first undergo radiation or chemotherapy to kill the cancer cells."

"We will continue her chemotherapy every three weeks after her initial session. But following the third treatment, we will rescan to evaluate if there has been any progress."

"Pagkatapos, while monitoring her condition at nakita ang improvement through CA-125 test, she can now undergo surgery to remove the tumors. Kaya after the operation, iiwasan niya ang pagbubuhat ng mabibigat na bagay, stop din muna sa exercise, pati na rin ang sex. I'll inform you kung kailan puwede na. Pero kadalasan, maaari niyo ng magawa ulit ito after six weeks."
