Agatsuma Zenitsu | Thank You

Witnessing face to face with a demon is horrifying. So horrifying that you can freeze in shock, feeling like you're paralyzed. The only one to save you is a crybaby slayer.

"Stop! Go away!" You back up against a tree, narrowing your eyes at them. Eventually, a yellow and orange haired boy falls down from out of nowhere, startling you and the demon.

You let out a small 'eep,' checking if the young male was alright.

"Hey, hey! You alright? What happened?" You gently shake his body, noticing there was a sword attached to his hip. You nudge him, eventually dragging Zenitsu under the tree.

"Stay back!" You huff, throwing your sandal at the demon. Zenitsu wakes up crying his eyes out, making you flinch.

"Hey! Are you okay??" You comfort him, looking at the demon that looked like they're hesitating.

Zenitsu blinked, stopping his whining. He looked behind you, noticing there was a demon. He hid behind you like a shield.

"Wait- aren't you a Demon Slayer??" You look behind your shoulder with a disgusted look at Zenitsu's attitude.

"Yeah..." Zenitsu muttered, putting his hands on you shoulders. The demon began to pick up pace. You decide to move to another location, grabbing Zenitsu's arm.

"So? You're supposed to protect me! Right?!" You yell over your heartbeat as Zenitsu flinches at your sudden outburst.

"I'm sorry! I'm not like the others, I'm a weakling." Zenitsu exhaled, looking down at the ground. You sit him down, getting into a kneeling position. "What's your name?" You ask.

"Zenitsu. Zenitsu Agatsuma." Zenitsu lowered his voice, putting his legs up against his mouth.

"I'm Y/N, nice to meet you." You lower your voice as well, nodding. "Listen here, Zenitsu."

"I want you to think about how caring and strong you are. Though I just met you, you seem like a pretty nice guy." You pause, blushing a light pink as Zenitsu copies.

You couldn't finish more of your words, noticing it'll probably make it worse. Zenitsu sighed. "I don't know if you should use the word 'strong' to define me."

You give him a gentle slap on the right side of his face. "Stop thinking like that. Be more positive in yourself." You smile, patting his shoulder.

Zenitsu smiled, rising to his feet. You watch him stumble to the demon, pulling his katana out. You blink, realizing what he's doing. You keep your guard up.

Not even a minute later, Zenitsu gets launched backwards into a tree with force. You run towards Zenitsu, making sure he was alright once again.

"Zenitsu, we have to go. Forget about the demon." You mutter, Zenitsu opened an eye slowly nodding.

Without hesitation, you carry Zenitsu, running far away from the demon. Eventually, you find a safe spot as the sun rises. You lay Zenitsu down next to a tree, catching your breath as you sit next to him.

Though he's a weakling you adore him more than ever. You saved your life...in a way, so you saved his. You smile at Zenitsu as he peacefully falls asleep.

"Thank you Zenitsu."

"You changed my life."
