~*~ You rest in the butterfly mansion's white sheeted bed, sickly. You try to hide the fact you're sick, though it's pretty obvious.
Today, Genya is coming over to check on you, mostly for emotional support, since he had no idea what was going on with you. You told him it was alright, though he immediately did not believe you. So, there was no stopping him from seeing you.
You let out a few muffled coughs, due to your arm covering your mouth. You slouched down in the bed, sniffling a bit with a annoyed sigh. I can't breathe through my nose anymore. This sucks. You huffed, sitting back up.
A knock was heard by the door, though the door was wide open. You turned your head a bit to the left to find Aoi standing in the doorway, crossing her arms. “A visitor is here.” She spoke. “Oh! Right.” You muttered the last word under your breath, fixing your posture.
As you suspected, Genya has arrived. Earlier than he said, so it did cstch yiu a bit off guard. You caught your sneeze under you breath before he walked in. “Oh, hi Genya... you're here early.” You said with a scratchy tone of voice.
Genya cleared his throat, stepping closer to you with slight concern in his face. “Yeah. I was um... worried about you, so I came early.” Genya replied with a small chuckle under his breath, tapping his fingers and his pants. “Are you um... sick?” Genya questioned with a blink.
“Oh! No, I'm not.” You quickly spat out a lie, forcing your nasally voice not to crack or waver. Genya eyed the small, slightly hidden tissue box that was poking out from under the sheets, with a slow nod. You didn't really want to tell him, due to the fact you'll probably worry him more, and don't want to be a problem for him as well.
“Well, um.” Genya paused, looking a look around the room before sitting down on another nearby bed. “Not to sound rude but... why are you here?” Genya questioned as you froze, a few coughs quickly escaping your mouth before you got the chance to cover them.
“Sorry.” You quickly apologize under your breath as Genya shook his head side to side. “Don't worry..” Genya muttered, shifting his body to a comfortable spot, fidgeting with a fingers a bit. “Right, um... I'm just here because of a mission.” You replied with a lie once more.
Genya blinked. “Oh, I never heard about a mission, but oh well.” Genya gave a soft smile, believing your lie. You felt bad for doing this to him, but it felt necessary to you.
Genya eventually starts to break the awkward silence between both of you by staring a conversation. He eventually paused, noticing something. “Oh, your nose.. is running.” Genya pointed at your nose as you quickly grabbed a tissue wiping your nose. “Continue..!” You nod, balling up the small piece of tissue as you throw it away in the garbage can next to you.
Genya let out a small exhale, looking at you up and down. “Are actually you okay?” Genya asked concerningly with a tilt to the head. You pause, shutting your eyes for a moment. You decide to drop the lies and tell the truth. “Genya, you were right. I'm sick——but! I don't think it's contagious..” You quickly state with a faint, nervous smile.
Genya gave a small frown “Why didn't you tell me the first time?” Genya blinked, pulling his hair to the side of his neck. “Well, to not worry you that much.. and not to be a problem.” You mutter, taking a glance at the ground for a moment.
“Oh! No, you're not worrying me.” Genya quick replied, leaning his body foward, for your eyes to see Genya with a smile.
“If you say so.” You gave a slight shrug. Genya rose to his feet, patting you on the head with a faint smile before walking out the door, saying his goodbyes.
You pause for a moment as the door closes, noticing something.
I feel a bit better.
