~*~ You talk to one of your new friends you've just made for a bit, trying to get to know her more.
Shinobu walks past the room a couple of times that you and your friend were chatting in. She took quick glances every so often, pacing back and forth a bit before she decided to get it together.
She stepped inside the room as you stop talking, looking at the insect pillar with a smile. “Hello Kocho!” You greet her, waving. Your friend silently waves at her, staring at her for a bit. Shinobu waved back, making her way towards you two.
She sat between the both of you, leaning against your friend as a sign for her to move over a bit. “Shall I join the conversation?” Shinobu said, putting her finger on her lip with a smile. You pause for a bit, eventually giving a nod. “Of course..!”
Your female friend looks at the insect pillar with a blink, observing her looks. “Sorry to interrupt but um..” She tapped Shinobu's shoulder as the insect pillar gave her a fake smile. “What is it, hmm?” Shinobu asked with a head tilt, showing a bit of annoyance in her tone.
“You look familiar, have we met?” Your friend questioned, lowering her voice. Shinobu blinked. “Oh? Really now?” She paused. “Lemme think.. hmm..” Shinobu looked at the ceiling, her finger on her chin. She eventually looked at your friend with a irritated smile. “Doesn't ring a bell! Sorry~” Shinobu said a bit sarcastically, turning her direction towards you.
“Oh, sorry then..” Your friend let out a nervous chuckle under her breath, shifting her position. Shinobu ingored her as she continued her conversation with you. You pause, stopped the insect pillar. “I almost forgot, you guys haven't seen each other in person. Why not introduce yourselves?” You give a smile at both of them.
“Oh, right. I'm—” Your friend's words were cut off by Shinobu. “Shinobu Kocho.” She spoke, refusing to shake hands. That's when you definitely noticed something was irritating Shinobu. She normally shakes hands with others as she introduces herself.
Your friend stood quiet for a moment, lowering her head. She knew she was causing irritation to Shinobu, but couldn't really know why. “Nice to.. meet you, Kocho.” She said in a low and soft tone. Shinobu gave a nod as the room turned silent.
“Um.. is there something bothering you, Shinobu?” You ask, trying to see her face as her head was down at the moment. Shinobu took a glance at you as her fake smile returned. “No, why?” She asked rather calmly. You pause, eyeing her hand that seem to be balled up into a loose fist. You give Shinobu a small frown. “Are you sure?”
Shinobu rose to her feet, clearing her throat, along with a soft exhale. “Y/N, please come with me.” Shinobu spoke as you gave a nod, following her out the room. You were a bit concerned about Shinobu and your friend's friendship status. So far, it wasn't going that well.
“Y/N, this person you're talking to. Is she perhaps your friend?” Shinobu questioned a bit seriously. You give a nod. “Yeah, one of my new friends. Is there something wrong?” You blink, putting your hands behind your back. Shinobu squeezed her hand, her fake smile getting a little bigger. At this point, her irritation showed through her smile.
“Shinobu, are you.. jealous?” You soften your voice, Shinobu tilting her head. “Jealous?” She repeated, her eyes a bit wide, a bit surprised you caught on so quickly. “You looked.. a bit angry, even if you were smiling. That's just my guess, though..” You quickly add.
Shinobu lowered her head. “Indeed I am..” Shinobu gave a small nod, relaxing her body a bit. “Prehaps seeing you with others makes me develop a certain anger and jealousy.” Shinobu paused. “For that, I am deeply sorry.”
You gave a smile to the insect pillar, hugging her a bit. “Don't worry. Thank you for being honest with yourself, but it feels like my friend would love to hear that from you too.” You pause, hinting at her a bit. “You were a bit mean towards her in your way, no offense.”
“None taken.” Shinobu took a step forward, agreeing with your suggestion. You peek your head around the corner of the room, watching Shinobu apologize to your friend. After the apologizing, they both gave a small bow. You walk over towards them both.
“Hey, have I ever mentioned, you two are related?” You say, both of them pausing and looking at each other with widened eyes. Both of them open their mouths, speaking at the same time.
“Pardon?” “Really?”
