Chapter 32: Spring's Calling

Act II

3 Years later...

Faith's P.O.V

THE winter in Shibuya is now gone and the spring has come to greet us for a new revolution.

"Faith, boss is looking for you..."

And I was supposed to enjoy my coffee in the morning while staring at my window glass to witness the first day of spring when Akemi just knocked in my door and leaving me a message I didn't want to here for today.

Hindi ko na itinuloy ang pag-inom ng kape ko at inilapag ko na ito sa table ko. I walked towards my desk to find the document I should take before going to my boss' office.

Spending three years in Japan for seemed like almost six years because of the jobs I had to take before settling a stable one.

Noong una naging store manager muna ako hanggang sa unti-unti kong pinasok ang corporate world ng Japan gamit ang mga job experiences ko. My bind with my last work in the Philippines greatly helped me to settle for a higher role.

Now I am working in a Bank's Finance Crime Unit as a Finance Investigation Officer, and I have been working here for two years already.

Bago ako tuluyang lumabas ng silid ko ay nagsalamin muna ako. I made sure my skit is tight wrapped in my waist and my long pink sleeve is tucked in my skirt. Chineck ko rin ang red heels ko kung may gasgas o duming nakadikit sa talampakan. And when I am all good, I left my office.

"Ohayo, Faith!" bati sa akin ng mga staffs na mukhang kababalik lang mula sa kanilang breakfast break.

Currently, I am working in one the most known banks here in Japan. Their head quarters is found here in Shibuya.

My work is to investigate financial crimes that the bank is facing and I have been leading a team of my own for two years now.

Pagpasok ko sa office ng boss ko ay nag-bow kaagad ako dahil ito ang kinaugalian ng mga hapon na bahagi ng kanilang paggalang sa isang tao.

"You're here, Faith. Where is the case I have been telling you!?"

Napahigpit ang hawak ko sa folder na ibibigay ko dapat sa kanya. This folder contains the case of what he wants me to cover up. It turns out my boss has been soliciting funds from investors that the company is not aware of.

My work is fun and exciting until Yuji Kizaki--the new Executive Director started asking me to cover up for his case but ever since that day that he wanted me to do that, I have been ignoring him.

"Here," humakbang ako sa kanya at iniabot ang folder. Habang binubuklat niya ito ay napakunot-noo siya. "You haven't taken any action? I thought we agreed on this, hmmm?" humakbang naman siya ngayon palapit sa akin at hinawakan ako sa braso.

Yuji is known as womanizer and he's really hitting on staffs he likes. I stood firmly and just stared at him. "I never agreed to that," I smirked that may have caused him to frown.

"You are not an easy girl as I assume," he chuckled and dropped the folder on his desk.

It's not my first time that someone is asking such thing from me. I work in an Investigation Unit and that should be expected. Sa ganitong trabaho, kailangan matapang ka dahil kung makikita nilang mahina ka, they will take advantage of you.

"We'll present this to the board meeting tomorrow. My team will arrange the presentation, we hope to see you there, Mr. Yuji..." yumuko ako nang kaunti bilang pamamaalam ko naman sa kanya.

Pagkatapos ng office work ko kanina ay dumiretso ako sa gym dahil may daily 1-hour session ako rito. Bakit ba ako nag-gym? Hindi naman ako nagpapapayat dahil payat na ako, pero gusto ko lang lumakas ako kaunti para makasapak naman ako kapag na-holdup ako.
