Chapter 33: Mysterious Savior

Red's P.O.V

THE sound of the elevator as it opens marks the start of my day. It means I have to prepare my mind, ears, mouth or better to say my entire body.

When I came out from the elevator the wide front desk facing on the  window glass where my office administrative assistant greeted me with a smile and lowered her head a bit. I just nod at her to acknowledge her presence. She works at the front desk to entertain and filter any works or documents that are addressed to my office.

"R-red!"

Ang tahimik na hallway na nilalakaran ko ay nabulabog nang makita ko sa likod ko si Rosette o mas tinatawag na 'Rose' dahil nagsisigaw na naman ito pagkalabas pa lang ng elevator. Huminto ako para salubungin siya at nang makalapit na siya sa akin ay tumingin siya sa relo niya.

"Ah, sorry It's 8 am na pala..." anito sabay umatras kaunti at inayos ang sarili at yumuko nang ganito.

"Good Morning, Mr. Chairman..." maayos at magalang nitong bati sa akin, malayong-malayo sa pagsigaw nito kanina.

I understand how Rose sometimes feels it weird to call me like that because we grew up together calling each other's nickname. I am not forcing her to address me like that but it was her choice to do it, because after all I am her boss.

3 years ago, I took over my father's company despite hating him all my life. I thought my hatred to him is enough to forget him and never forgive him, but I guess it wasn't or perhaps I led this hatred the wrong way in my entire life.

My father was hospitalized because of brain hemorrhage and the rumors about him back then that he was sick is true, but he didn't took it seriously until it left an irreparable blow to his body.

I was only able to spend a few more months with him before he died. The last weeks we're the toughest because he could not speak anymore.

And despite me abandoning him, he still left with the will that I will inherit all of his properties including this legacy that he's been building over the years.

So I took over the company, and it wasn't easy.

A lot of people we're not in favor of me, well of course until now. My Father had loyal board members and there were the ones who supported me. And the moment I took the seat, I felt the heavy burden that my father has been carrying over the years...

"Good Morning, what do you have for me?" bago pa ako matulala nang matagal ay nagsimula ulit akong maglakad at nakasunod si Rose. She walks with me but she's at least one step behind because this is how they treated my father. I heard from people here that no one walks side by side with my Father except for Mom, and me. And he wanted to keep it that way. Mukhang nasanay na sila at kung paano nila itrato ang Daddy ko, gano'n na rin nila ako trinato.

Rose is my cousin, she's a pure blooded Castromayor. She is the CFO or Chief Financial Officer of the company and her father is a board member. Rose directly reports to me because I requested it that way.

"Well, your investigation unit is still in progress. Since the head of Investigation Department is still vacant, I still can't give you an Investigation Officer.."

Napahinto kami ni Rose sa tapat ng pintuan ko dahil napabuntong-hininga ako. "I need that team right away," dismayadong saad ko naman at saka pinagbuksan ako ng dalawang guard na nakabantay sa harap ng opisina ko.

The entire floor is my office with vacant conference halls and pantry for me.

Pagpasok ko sa loob ay nakita ko si Dion na inaayos ang mga dokumento sa mesa ko. Dion is Daniel's son and when Dad died, he also left the company. Si Dion ang executive secretary ko and he takes care mostly of my appointments.
