Vardhaan's POV
Throughout the evening, I sensed her gaze fixed upon me. I longed to return her stare, but my mind stopped me from doing so. While I was checking my emails, I felt her presence as she entered the room and directed her attention towards me and cleared her throat. The air was thick with silence and discomfort, as it always seemed to be when we were alone. So to ease e the tension, I asked her in a cold and formal tone, "Is there something you need?"
She nodded her head in a no. "Then why are you standing there, wait you don't wanna share the same bed with me?" I asked again. A deep-rooted fear enveloped my heart, as I desperately hoped for her denial. I couldn't bear the thought of my wife feeling such discomfort with my presence around her.
"No it's not like that actually I needed your help in opening my suitcase, its stuck." she told. I took a breath of relief and went to check upon her luggage. It was not stuck anywhere, why did she lie? As I was leaving I saw the same "Fly safe" luggage tag I gave her 3 years ago.
It caught my attention, sparking a series of emotions and memories. I was surprised, she still had it. It was my first gift to her. Who knows maybe last as well? Memories from the past flooded my mind. So I quickly went back and told her it was open now and straightly I went to bed. After a while I could hear small whiffs of her crying. Why was she crying I wonder? I wish I could console her. Uff, slowly worrying about my wife I soon fell asleep.
