"So how was your day?" Vardhaan asked Koyal driving while returning back from Aditya's house. "It was amazing. I had so much fun meeting him." She replied, in a joyous voice. He smiled and said, "That's great, he missed you a lot while you were in US, you should meet him more often." "Ya, you both seem to get along quiet well." She remarked. "Ya, we worked together in the past year, he is almost my age and we are relatives so we go quiet along, I guess" He answered her.

"How was your day?" Koyal asked her husband. "It was as usual boring" He replied. "Really!?"
"yes"
"let's make your day interesting then?"
"How so?"
"Stop the car first"
"What, why?"
"Just stop the car, then I will tell you."
"It night, and we are on the middle side of the road."

"ughh.... Please..." Koyal showed a little of her cute baby pouty face, and now how could Vardhaan possibly ignore her request. He eventually had to stop the car. "Hmm... now what to do?" "Okay...I have an amazing idea," She said with excitement. "Would you like to shed some light on that amazing idea of yours Madam?" Vardhaan questioned. "So listen" "Listening" "Aree...stop interrupting me" Koyal said to Vardhaan slightly irritated, so Vardhaan just gave her a "okay I won't, go on" type look. So she continued.

"So listen, there was super market type thing and some shops, few meters past. We will get down from the car, cross the road. And then...then we will have a run till that supermarket stop, then, you go your way, I will go my way. We will buy some mid night snacks and sweets then come back to the same spot we started. The one who gets back first and has good foods wins." She completed in one go.

Vardhaan after listening to her gave her a "Are you mad" type look and straight away said "NO". "Aree, why it's such a great idea, it will be so much fun" "No Koyal, are we some kids, to such thing, and how will it look you running in a anarkali suit and me in a three piece suit. If by chance you run faster then me which I doubt, people will think I am harassing you or something. So No" Vardhaan explained her.

"Hey what do you mean if I run faster than you by chance, I was sports captain in my school. I have participated in so many marathons, and won them of course I will win in running from you." Koyal said, in a offened tone. Vardhaan thought something and smirked and said in a challenging tone, "Really, sports captain, lets have a race let's see who wins," "Ohh this is so on, let's see, and don't worry, I will tell people you are not harassing me, if they ask. And for snacks I have the best choice" Koyal said with a fake smile and confidence. "Cool, let's see" Vardhaan remarked in an overly joyous voice.

Now both were on the the other side of road. Koyal said " on your marks....one two three and run" But poor koyal forgot she was wearing heels, not high heels but still heels are heels and lets not forget her long anarkali, and its long dupatta (scarf). Vardhaan had thought of all this and then challenged her.

For Vardhaan it was a less than 5 minute jog, he reached quiet early than Koyal. And after reaching there, he was having the time of his life, looking his wife, to struggle even to walk faster forget running. The distance which seemed to Koyal just a little back now felt like a 10 km long walk. After struggling to even walk briskly she reached there after 10 minutes, only to find Vardhaan leaning on a wall with folded hands and giving her teasing looks, as she reached near the shop area, Vardhaan went inside the market, followed by Koyal. They shoped a few things and then were back to the car.

While returning Koyal had a little more difficulty in walking due to excess snack shopping. Feeling pity on her situation Vardhaan first ran to the car to keep his bag and then again return to help her. But Koyal thought, "Haww, I know it was my idea, and it was a competition, yet he could have helped me carry these bag. Auggh why did I buy so many things"

"Hey sports captain, enjoying your run" Vardhaan said as he was reaching her. Koyal just scoffed and turned her face away from him, embarrassed. "Aww, captain, why don't you let me carry your bags so you can concentrate on running." Vardhaan teased again. Koyal was too embarrassed to tell him anything but never the less, she handed him those, cause it was heavy. And why wouldn't it be, she brought so many things. Those two big bags looked like a proper grocery shopping bag than a snack shopping bag.

Once they reached the car, he saw Koyal scoffing and huffing like a child. When he looked her annoyed and embarrassed he was unable to control his laugh, yet he controlled it all the way, coughing, sorry fake coughing. As they reached the house Koyal firstly opened her heels and looked at them with utmost anger. Then she tried running to her room but Vardhaan said... "Hey, let's see who won, don't just run now." Stifling his laugh as he saw her actions and expressions.

They were showing each other who brought what, sitting on their dinning table with the table full of snacks. Vardhaan had brought a packet of masala makahna (spiced fox nut), a packet of roasted chickpea, two bottles of mango mogu mogu, and 2 box of flavoured yougourt.

Whereas Koyal, she brought family pack maggi, around 10 packets of ramens with diffirent spice levels, blue lays, yellow lays, around 4 different flavours of Kurkure, 6 chocolate bars, two mixed mithai boxes, and a lot of biscuits and cold drinks.

"I didn't know we were having a party." Vardhaan said sarcastically. "Even I didn't know or else I would have shopped accordingly" She replied back. "You mean all this is for us." Vardhaan doubtfully asked. "Yes"

"For a mid night"

"What no, its for a month"

"I thought, it was for today only"

"It was, but I failed miserably in the first part only, so I dropped the competition thing and shopped for till I am here." She said in an annoyed and embarrassed voice.

Vardhaan had a hearty laugh, then he said, "I had told you, lets not do this, but you did not listen, instead you challenged me in running." Koyal just huffed. Then he said again, "still believe that you are a better runner than me" "OF COURSE" She said expressing each word very clearly. Vardhaan smiled and said, "I saw that" Koyal defended herself saying, "I was in an inappropriate dress and shoes, I will show you how better I am when I dressed like a runner." "Sure, we will see, so who won?" Vardhaan asked wiggling his eyebrow. Koyal found him really annoying but cute today.

She had a strange look on her face and said, "You win, happy?" "Yes" He replied. Vardhaan loved seeing this side of his wife. He really enjoyed today. All his tiredness vanished. Indeed she turned his normal boring day into an interesting one.

Both of them wished good night and were about to sleep when Vardhaan said, "Koyal, you indeed turned my normal boring day into an interesting one. Thanks" Koyal immediately had a smile covering her face. All her embracement from before vanished. She said him you're welcome and both drifted into their dreamland with a smile on their faces.

Even though, slowly yet a strong base of friendship was starting to lay in their relationship. They were slowly getting comfortable with each. Let's see how long does it take them to be proper husband and wife, cause three years have already passed.
