My mother used to always say "नवारंभः अन्यारंभस्यांतादायाति" which means for every new beginning comes with the end of other old beginnings. From today there will be the beginning of a fresh chapter in my marital journey. Till today I was fully dedicated towards my career, but now it's time to show the same dedication in my marriage. I am wholeheartedly going to nourish this relationship mutual respect, time, and communication. The first step to all this is to clear all misunderstandings between me and Vardhaan.
I get ready for the day with this thought in my mind. My eyes wander in the room searching him but I guess he is already downstairs. As I go out I see everyone busy, rushing here and there preparing for Avi's engagement. I go to the kitchen to see Maa and choti maa talking. "Oh, Koyal you are here, good morning dear" Maa said as she saw me. Smiling I replied her and took both of theirs blessing. We were talking about nothing in particular when Bebe entered the kitchen.
"Wow the house is filled with guests there is a wedding about to take place and here the daughter in laws are sitting and talking. Don't you guys need to look at the preprations? Gayetri it's your son's engagement, have you prepared everything" She asked mum. "Aah, yes I guess bebe" "If you can only guess then why don't you go and check everything? And Koyal go and help her, for once do something." She told again and all went to do some work.
I did not have any work as I knew nothing about the preparations and I have very little knowledge about the relatives. It was a little boring so I was going back to my room when I met Shalini bua. I went to her, we also talked a little and she taught me how to make the shagun's thali and kept me engaged in some work or other.

It was the same mirror embellished lehnga I wore in my engagement except for that was of peach color and this is blue. I got the same designer to make it. I did a light make up touch up. I wanted to do the same makeover as well but now that wouldn't be fair with Anaya. It's her day and she should look the prettiest. I wore my vermilion (sindoor) which uplifted my whole look for day. I wore a light matching neckless with my nuptial chain.

As I finished getting ready, I saw Vardhaan entre the room. "We need to talk" I said, before he could ignore me and go again. "Right now? I need to get ready." He replied. "Uh.. it's kind of urgent" I urged a little more. "What is it? I have my brother's engagement to attend. Be fast." He replied. Maybe it is not the best time to talk to him. So I just told him let's talk after engagement."
Vardhaan's POV
As I entered the room I saw Koyal all ready for the function. Her dress was very similar to the one of our engagement. My heartbeat also increased the same way as three years ago. Honestly she looks way more beautiful than before. I was admiring her when she expressed her want to talk to me. My heartbeat increased a lot. I was scared. Yes the great business tycoon Vardhaan Chopra was scared, scared that she will say I don't want to be a part of your life anymore. I know my happiness now, so leave me, and free me from this relationship. So I just gave her the excuse of getting late.
Throughout the function I was admiring her, and I thought a lot about it. And I came to a conclusion that I should probably let her go. What's the use of keeping her tied with me when she is not happy with me at all. I like her. That is a truth but maybe she doesn't think of me the same. So by the end of the ceremonyI contacted my lawyer.
Today bebe had kept a jagran in our house, so it stalled me more time. The next day I had to go Mumbai for Abhi's some official work. It was his deal, but he couldn't miss his wedding now, so I went instead of him. When I returned it was his sangeet. I met Abhinav and my baby brother was looking so happy. Abhi wanted me to dance so I sang a song for him. Koyal also did a solo dance performance. She looked so ethereal in that red saree. I did enjoy the function a lot. It was late night when we got the alone time.
"I want to talk" she said. "I know what you want to talk about" I said. "Just wait here" saying that I opened my cupboard and took the papers, divorce papers out. I guess we were not destined together. As I gave her the papers, I felt my heart was tearing down. "What is this" she asked me without looking at it, so I replied "Your happiness, see for yourself"
