The Proposal

* two weeks later*

Niall POV

Today is the day! I'm going to ask Emily to be mine forever. It would be such a blessing in my life to have her there always by my side. God I can't wait! Everything is ready. I have the ring, Dahvie and Jayy are ready. This is going to be perfect. I told Emily I was just going to sing to her, but I have. a bigger surprise.

When the time comes I pull Emily on stage, while jayy and Dahvie wait secretly in the wings. I sit her down, and I begin to strum. I play the tune of "I will follow you into the dark" by death cab for cutie. She smiles, she loves this song, and has always begged me to sing it to her. I begin to sing...

"Love of mine some day you will die

But I'll be close behind

I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white

Just our hands clasped so tight

Waiting for the hint of a spark

If Heaven and Hell decide

That they both are satisfied

Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

I sing to my beautiful girl. Then Dahvie and Jayy walk out together singing the next verse to Emily

"In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule

I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black

And I held my tongue as she told me

"Son fear is the heart of love"

So I never went back

They sing looking directly into Emily's eyes. I get the last part, then it's the surprise. I begin the last verse, that starts the beginning.

"You and me have seen everything to see

From Bangkok to Calgary

And the soles of your shoes are all worn down

The time for sleep is now

It's nothing to cry about

'cause we'll hold each other soon

In the blackest of rooms

As I'm about to sing the very last line, I get down on one knee and sing....

"Then I'll follow you into the dark"

She is in tears, as the song ends. I look her in the eyes and say..

"Emily Lillian Vanity. You are my everything. You are my angel, my lion queen, my light my dark, my good my bad. I've never met anyone like you. I love you with all my heart. I knew that the day I first saw you in that dressing room, I knew that you were the one. The very first time I looked into your eyes, I knew that I was a goner. I knew that I loved you from that very moment. I truly believed for the longest time, that you were a fallen angel in disguise. So would you please do me the honer, make my life complete, follow me into the dark, and marry me?"

The room is silent as I finish. Emily has tears streaming down her face. She smiles and says "yes!" I put the ring on her and get up to hug her. Dahvie and Jayy join us making it a group hug. I start to cry my self, not because I'm sad, but because finally I found the girl god meant for me to be with. I kiss Emily so passionately. My time as Emily's boyfriend who's gone all the time has ended, now is the beginning to my adventure with my beautiful wife, and the family we will have. I smile to myself as we exit the stage.

Niall and Emily are going to get married! Yay!
