Sebastian had explained what Love had told him to Ominis and Diane, Diane's eyes wide as she stared back at him while Ominis was just in silent shock.
"So... the 12 children are real?!" Ominis said, "And they're at the Ministry of Magic? All of them?"
"All that are left." Sebastian shrugged. "I'm not sure why they're there, though. I didn't get to ask."
"And... my magic is...?" She felt her chest where she knew her magic focused from, thinking back to the dream she'd had when she'd been unconscious, of that terrifying creature that had been chasing her. What... if that hadn't been a dream? That was even more terrifying! Why would it want to kill her like that?
"She said Origin was distributed to mankind, but because mankind couldn't stop fighting they took their magic back and entrusted it to one person instead." Sebastian said softly. "It makes sense to me... and it would be a betrayal that would leave me pretty damn sour if it happened to me, so I don't really blame it for not trusting mankind again." Sebastian said solemnly.
"But why me?" Diane scoffed in disbelief. "I'm hardly someone who would be entrusted with something so important."
"Diane... you are a kind, and gentle woman. You would never use your magic to harm someone unless it is absolutely needed." Ominis said gently. "If anyone deserves that magic, it would be someone like you."
Diane looked down with a soft blush at the description but did feel a bit better. That made sense... "But why did Origin entrust the magic to mankind in the first place?" Diane said curiously.
"I don't know" Sebastian shrugged. "Only that they did."
Diane sighed, wishing she could find out what had actually happened... especially if the entity was inside her. The creature hadn't seemed... very talkative, though. But she should probably tell them about it.
"When... I was unconscious," she looked to Sebastian and saw him tense at the reminder of that time, "I had a dream where a creature was chasing me... I think it was trying to eat me."
Sebastian made a nervous noise. "What did it look like?"
"It's hard to say... it was always changing, like every part of it was always changing. But it was always some animal." Diane frowned, trying to describe something like that.
Sebastian ran a hand over his face in dismay, letting out a long anxious sigh. "That sounds like what she showed me Origin looked like."
"Seriously?!" Ominis gasped, looking to Diane. "Why would it be trying to eat you like that?"
Diane shrugged, not knowing.
Ominis sighed, and thought back to the younger Diane he'd seen in his dream as well. But he was starting to think that hadn't been a dream. "I had a dream too." He said softly.
Sebastian looked over to him in shock, his eyes wide as he waited for him to continue.
Ominis sighed, hoping Sebastian wouldn't be too upset from this... or upset that he'd kept it from him. "I had a dream that I was in my memories, like my legilimency, but... someone else was there with me. A hooded figure, with a scythe."
He heard Sebastian let out a shuddering breath, and Diane gave a soft sound.
"He was searching for me, but... Diane, you were there too."
"I was?" Diane said in confusion.
"Yes, but it wasn't you now. It was you from 6th year... when I went to you in that cave. After I first kissed you." Ominis said softly. "I don't know how you were in my mind, though."
