(23 days until the wedding)
"Of course we're fine with babysitting for the day." Diane reassured Poppy at the doorway of the house.
"Are you sure? Even with the wedding planning?" Poppy said uneasily, standing outside the doorway as Danny rolled his eyes and gave her an amused smile from behind her.
"Yes! I told you already." Diane giggled. "Will and Connor helped us write the invitations, the owls are all out, we have a little get together at Anne's this weekend to make decorations, and Connor has all the details for the cake." Diane listed the things off on her fingers.
Poppy opened her mouth to say something before Sebastian interjected from behind Diane. "And Ominis and I already have our suits being tailored."
Ominis blushed happily at that, remembering seeing each other in their suits and having that warm moment of realizing just how real this was getting.
"Alright alright." Poppy laughed, shaking her head in disbelief. "You guys really are on top of it, aren't you?"
"I'm really excited." Diane said happily, clapping her hands with her glee. "So I want it to go as well as it can. But we need a day off as well, and you need a day off." She pointed to Poppy with a smirk.
Poppy blushed a bit, glancing over her shoulder to Dan, who could only grin wryly at the implications.
"You said you were going to show me some birds today, right?" He asked curiously.
"Fwooper birds." Poppy nodded. There weren't too many creatures left to show him... just kneazles, then the hippogryphs, and... if he was feeling very daring they could try to coax the graphorn to being cooperative. She wasn't sure about that one, though. It was mighty testy lately.
"A day off will be nice." Dan sighed with a smile. "I love the kids, but they're getting to be more of a handful as they get older."
"Good thing there's three of us, then." Sebastian grinned.
"It probably doesn't help that two of them are showing magic, too." Ominis chuckled.
"Still a bit hard to believe, honestly." Dan laughed softly. "To think my family has magic in it... we were so ordinary in London."
"Well you did mention your last name is odd, maybe you have a Wizard in your line a way back somewhere." Ominis said thoughtfully. "Wizard last names can be quite different than muggle last names."
Dan hummed thoughtfully, having never really thought about that before. "Well, if we did I wouldn't really know about it." He chuckled before looking down to Poppy. "Ready to get going?"
Poppy nodded and waved to Diane and the boys, Ominis already turning when one of the little ones tugged on his shirt for attention.
"Have fun." Diane whispered mischievously as she closed the door behind them with a wry smile, making Poppy blush.
She looked over to Dan who smiled happily down to her, offering his hand for her to hold as they walked down the street in Killin. She took it happily, her heart fluttering as they walked down the street holding hands like a couple, making it clear for anyone to see. She rather liked how open he was about their relationship, not caring who saw how much he cared about her.
"So, where are these fwooper birds?" He asked curiously.
"They're actually relatively common, so several places." Poppy smiled over to him. "You're getting more and more used to creatures, aren't you?"
"It's fun to see them, and you care a lot about them, so I want to get to know them too." He said with a warm look over to her that made her blush.
Poppy looked up to him with a soft smile, blushing happily that he cared so much about her that he wanted to do things she was interested in. It meant a lot to her.
