Diane looked up in surprise at the knock on the door, watching William answer and greet Poppy softly before letting her and Dan come in.
"Hello, Diane." Poppy said gently, walking over to her and sitting on the couch next to her. She smiled softly seeing she was doing a bit better now, glad that she at least wasn't crying again.
"Will said you and Dan were going to talk about something?" Diane asked, looking between her and Dan in concern.
"Yeah." Poppy said softly, reaching out to put a hand on hers. "I talked to Sebastian and Ominis, too."
Diane squirmed a bit anxiously in her seat. "What did they say?" She asked in a quiet voice.
"Well, obviously they're worried about you." Poppy said with a little smile. "You know how they are. Sebastian finally got through his thick head that having a wedding without Ominis isn't a good idea, and Ominis feels bad that he didn't say anything sooner."
Diane started to open her mouth to say something but Poppy put a hand up to stop her. "He should be saying his opinion, Diane. You should be too. I know you love Sebastian but he can be kind of stupid when it comes to making decisions. If you two don't keep him in control sometimes by saying you disagree with him, he'll just think he's doing the right thing and you agree."
Diane looked down thoughtfully from that, knowing she was very right. That's how they'd gotten into the situation in the catacombs, with her and Ominis being too passive with their disagreements.
"Alright." Diane said softly, looking back up to Poppy sheepishly.
"Pop and I need to tell you something, though." Dan said gently, kneeling down in front of her. "I think... we may have to tell the kids about..." he motioned all around him, to indicate the world he'd been introduced to.
"What?" She breathed out in shock, her eyes going wide. "But- some of them are so young, Dan!"
"Yes, but..." Dan had a hard time thinking of how to explain this. He hardly understood it himself, so he looked up to Poppy to help him.
"We think that one of the kids may be showing... signs." Poppy said, setting a hand on Diane's.
"Signs?" Diane frowned in confusion for a moment.
"I think one of them has been using magic... or I have suspicions of it." Poppy glanced over to Dan.
"And when I was fighting with dad once, a chair flew at him from across the room." Dan added.
Diane's breath caught in shock at the idea, staring between them in silence for a long moment.
"So the kids might learn about magic either way." Poppy said finally, to break the silence.
Diane sat up a bit more, her eyes widening as she wondered what that might mean for everything. So the kids would be introduced to the Wizarding world... but introducing them and throwing them head first into a Wizard party were two very different things. Even she had been overwhelmed by Hogwarts when she'd first come, and she was from a Wizarding family!
"Sebastian and Ominis are going to come by in the morning. I know you probably want to see them tonight, but I think it might be good if you all had some time apart." Poppy said gently.
Diane frowned at the idea of spending a night apart from them, rubbing her arm uneasily. "I haven't spent a night apart from them in... almost two years now." She whispered.
"I know, but it's healthy to spend some time apart too, okay?" Poppy smiled softly. "It's just one night. Maybe you can think things through tonight, too? Think of what you might want to do with the situation. How to fix it."
