Chapter - 24

Silence!

That's what the room got filled with before Jungkook groaned, hiding his face behind his palms.It was a futile attempt to stop himself from getting more embarrassed than he already was.

How could he?

Why did he even do that!

"Jungkook......"

"This is so embarrassing." Jungkook cried out, cutting Taehyung off in the middle who was trying to make him feel at ease.

Well, he just explained whatever happened after Jungkook got drunk that evening.He even told the younger that he was the one to drop him at his home, not Jimin.To say the younger was shocked would be an understatement.He couldn't see all that coming when Taehyung started talking.

"It's alright, Jungkook.You were drunk." Taehyung tried again and sighed when the boy finally looked up at him, his face showing pure grimace towards his fucked up situation.

"So, Park Jimin lied to me." He gritted his teeth remembering how Jimin told him that he found him outside the club.For the time being, he totally forgot that Taehyung was still there, watching him talk to himself.

"He wouldn't.I asked him to lie to you since the truth could make you feel upset." Taehyung said almost immediately, feeling the need to defend Jimin in front of the boy.

"The truth came out anyways." Jungkook mumbled, mentally cusing himself for spilling out so much to the professor in his drink state.

"It wasn't supposed to though.It's just the turn of events that made it resurface." Taehyung answered, not wanting the boy to ponder over the same thing for that long.

"I-I want to a-ask one more t-thing?" Jungkook's statement came out as a question as nervousness filled his system.He wanted to know so many things and he couldn't just stop himself from asking more questions.

"H-how....W-when....I-I mean....You s-said y-you love me?" Jungkook stuttered out when he recieved a nod from the elder male.He hissed, feeling like a stupid.

What kind of a sentence did he just say!

"Oh, about that, I'm not sure.But I do know that my feelings for you gradually increased with time.It may start when I saw you strangling your friend to death on the first day..." Taehyung took a pause, looking back at the boy who looked at him with wide eyes and reddened cheeks.It made the man chuckle at the boy.

"Sorry.I was just kidding." Jungkook heaved a sigh he didn't know he was holding when he heard Taehyung's sentence.

How could the man be so calm and composed while talking about his feeling for one of his students?

Also, why Taehyung isn't getting nervous like he does whenever he has to express something that's been buried in his heart!

"I believe, it all started after a few weeks of me joining here.It wasn't that hard to catch feelings for you actually.You were kind to others, you were good with your studies, you didn't become arrogant because of all the attention you get from others.In other words, I saw a total replica of me in you, something I know is hard to find in the kids these days.That's the reason why I secretly started admiring you.But as the time passed, I felt my feelings of mere admiration turning into a totally different direction.I could see the way you gazed at me in the classes.I paid no mind to it at first because other students do that too.Later, I understood that your eyes on me somehow make me feel ecstatic.It started bothering me if you were looking somewhere else.I knew, my feelings were forbidden and I tried my best to control them as per my wish.But it wasn't that easy you know.It wasn't easy when you take care of puppies you find on the streets, feed stray dogs, help students from getting bullied and the list continues.It wasn't easy when I saw you being just yourself.Everything about you started making me forget the boundaries we should have between us.You robbed my heart and I couldn't even stop you.So, Jeon Jungkook, will you take the responsibility of taking care of my heart from now onwards?" Taehyung finally ended his explanation with a question directed to the younger who looked too stunned to react.Hell, the boy looked like a statue with a pair of wide eyes and an open mouth.

Taehyung kept looking at Jungkook with expectant eyes but the boy never responded.Heaving a sigh, Taehyung flicked the boy's chin to get him back to reality.Looked like, the boy was still processing whatever he just said.

"Earth to Jungkook.I asked you something; Didn't I?" The man spoke up when he saw the aforementioned male blinking his eyes rapidly, finally moving from his almost 'frozen on the spot' state.

"I-I...I will." It took Jungkook a while to master the courage to answer Taehyung's question.Everything was happening so fast and he felt really overwhelmed with emotions.When he started his day, he could never imagine that it'd turn out like this.He surely needed more time to think about things thoroughly.He needed time to feel that everything was happening in reality and it wasn't just a dream!

"You will what?Is that how a class topper answers to the questions they're being asked?" There was a smile playing on the corners of Taehyung's lips as he asked, his amused eyes taking in the sight of a dumbfounded Jungkook.

"I....I will take the responsibility of taking care of your heart from now onwards." Jungkook felt the heaviness of his chest which wasn't getting away from months finally leaving as soon as he pronounced those words.

He felt light!

"Thank you! In return, I will love to do the same for you.Will you allow me to do that?" Taehyung asked yet again, looking at Jungkook with a small, loving smile.His smile widened when he saw the boy's lips curving a bit upwards as his cheeks became rosy pink.

"I will." This time Jungkook answered without any hesitation and the way Taehyung's face lit up after hearing it made him feel happy too!

What wouldn't he do to see the man happy like this!

"So Jeon Jungkook, will you go on a date with me this weekend so that we can get to know each other?" At last but not the least, Taehyung asked the question he has been wanting to ask to the boy.

"I will.I will go on a date with you." Jungkook nodded his head vigorously, sniffling a little to stop the feeling that comes before crying one's heart out.

Taehyung couldn't help but let out the fond chuckle he had been holding for long, not being able to contain it inside him anymore.He knew that Jungkook was cute but he didn't know that Jungkook could be this cute!

"That is it then.I'll let you know about the time later." The man said after some time to which Jungkook nodded his head in agreement.

"It's already getting late.Let's get going now.I'll drop you off at your place." Taehyung stated before he stood up and forwarded his right hand for Jungkook to hold while getting up from his sitting position.

Jungkook gazed at Taehyung's hand for a while before a shy smile appeared on his lips.He took the elder's hand and stood up, mumbling a small 'thank you' in the process.He was feeling giddy inside.The feeling of being loved by the person he loves and then his hand being held by the same person felt surreal, unbelievable even....

He couldn't help but stare at Taehyung who organized his table and then grabbed his bag before walking towards him again.Jungkook was caught by surprise when the elder leaned in and kissed his forehead.He felt his heart beating crazily inside his chest, a warm feeling wrapping his whole being up like a cozy blanket does.

"Let's leave." Once again, Taehyung's voice brought Jungkook back to the present moment.The boy nodded his head with a smile and walked out of the room while following the elder male.

All the while, Jungkook kept feeling something funny inside his belly.He wasn't sure if it was caused by Taehyung's unexpected confession or by everything that happened within the last few hours.He could stop himself from thinking about the times when he cried, thinking he had no chance to be loved back by Taehyung.But now look!Everything changed so abruptly.

Kim Seokjin isn't Kim Taehyung's lover.

The man he loves loves him back.

And lastly,

Taehyung is taking HIM out on a date!!!

Everything, literally everything seemed unreal to Jungkook at this point.It felt like he was dreaming and he hoped, he just hoped not to wake up from this sleep ever.....
