The Ball

*Alicias POV*

I made my way to Professor Weasleys class,
I had almost forgotten to talk to her about becoming an animagus.
Students rushed everywhere and were still talking about the match between Ominis and Sebastian.
I knocked on Professors Weasleys office door.
"Come in her voice rang out, opening the door I made my way inside.
Her office was always so tidy with nothing out of place. What can I do for you Miss Evermore?"
"I wanted to tell you that I am now an animagus I know I need to be registered, I remember that you told us you were the person to go to for that."
"I would say I was surprised, but I know you study hard to be an exempliary student, it was only a matter of time. What did you turn into"
"I turned into a bit black wolf with silver eyes."
"Now that is a surprise indeed it's been over 200 years since someones animagus was a wolf, your magic never lacks for wonder. I am assuming you took our last conversation seriously,"
"Yes Professor Weasely I went down to the Ancient chamber and made sure I was alone when I transfigured."
"Thats good my dear I am very proud of you I am excited to see what the future has in store for you. I have you on the list if there is nothing else you would like to discuss you are welcome to leave."
"Thank you Professor Weasley" I made my way out of her office and ran straight into Asher,
"Oh crap mystery girl I have been doing my best too avoid you like you asked and here you are barreling into me. I noticed you didn't have a date to the ball."
"You are correct I am going stag if I go at all."
I began walking away
"Wait I have an offer that you may not refuse after hearing it.
I turned around curious with what he had to say. "You have 2 minutes to tell me about your offer. After that I am walking away,"
"I see that you are in a predicament between those two boys. Gaunt flew into a rage when he saw me I was momentaraly in fear for my life. And I have often noticed that the other always has his eyes on you.
Lets say we go to this ball together and see if we can get a reaction out of them, what do you say mystery girl?"
I mulled it over in my mind, maybe it was time for me to turn the tables on Ominis and Sebastian.
"Be outside my dorm at 7:00pm I will be wearing a pale blue dress." With that I walked away I knew I would be playing a risky move but I felt it was fair game.

Heading back to my dorm room I started getting ready for the ball.

*Sebastians POV*

I was still fuming knowing that I hadn't won the tournament, Ominis told me he didn't even try.
I had snuck into the undercroft trying to avoid the hoards of people who were congratulating me.
I was frustrated, things with Saraphina were getting nowhere the only intell I had gotten so far was the note.
If hurting Ali bc of my choices on how I started this quest was for nothing. I would hate myself to no end for losing her for no reason.
Being without her was torture watching Ominis save her pissed me off knowing that it should be me that saved her.
I really didn't want to attend this ball. I could just stay here.
But I knew that I had to be there.
I wondered if Ali would show up. With the gossip mill being what it was I knew she didn't have a date.
It was my fault as well. I was supposed to be her date, grinding my teeth together. I got up and headed towards the door I have had enough I was going to end things with Saraphina tonight and reclaim the girl who would always be mine.

*Alicias POV*
Looking at myself one more time in the mirror I smiled my long red hair was curled to perfection, the mascara and eyeliner gave my grey eyes the doe eyed look while the pale blue eye shimmer brought out the blue undertones in my grey eyes. The dress fit me like a glove the lights reflected off the crystals on my dress creating a shimmering effect.
It was sexy but classy at the same time.
Grabbing my wand I slipped it into my garter. Stepping out I made my way out of the gryffindor commons.
Asher was leaning up against the wall his messy hair had been combed back, he filled out the black dress robes nicely and had adorned it with a pale blue tie.
"Wow, Ashers eyes landed on me. You are going to have every man drooling over you tonight I hope you know."
"That was the plan I smiled you dressed up very nicely as well." As I linked my arm into his.
My stomach twisted into knots I was nervous about tonight. I had no idea what events were going to take place when Ominis and Sebastian noticed who my date was.
Music poured out of the great hall as we got closer. I could feel eyes on us as we walked in.
The great hall had transformed into a winter wonderland. Icicles hung down all over the room.
The floor was covered in a layer of snow.
The tables were adorned with white table cloths with delicate patterns of snowflakes.
Crystalised snowflakes floated in the air.
"Well I give Hogwarts one thing you guys can deffinately do a ball the right way. I am going to head over and grab something for us to drink. Non alcoholic preferred."
"Much appreciated."
"Ali you are completely stunning in the dress, but why did you come with Asher after what he did to you."
"Thats a question I would like answered as well" Ominis chimed in.
Poppy looked splended she wore a pink corset dress that billowed out from her waist.
The corset had black floral detailing. Black crystals were sewn into the skirt.
"Well firstly Poppy you are absolutely radiant in your dress, as for the second question I have decided to forgive Asher his apology was very sincere and I have enjoyed his company."
Ominis was wearing a dark grey dress robe with a pink tie to match Poppys dress.
His face had turned into a scowl, "you forgive to easily Alicia."
"Or maybe I just see the good in people and know we all make mistakes."
Before Ominis could say another word
Asher walked back up to me holding two chalaces full of white liquid.
Passing one to me,
"Your nonalcoholic beverage  my lady, and greetings my name is Asher, I am assuming these are some of your friends?"
Poppy smiled tentatively and held out her hand, I'm Poppy it's nice to meet you."
I finished my drink and pulled Asher onto the dancefloor.
"Our plan is working Gaunt can't keep his eyes off you.
As he spun me around.
It's a shame for the beauty he is with that he lusts for you. I would never stray from a girl like her. He leans in closer now trust me places a soft kiss on my neck."
He pulled me closer tracing kisses up to my lips.
Suddenly he was pulled back with such force he had almost lost balance.
Before I could react I was dragged away into the foyer.
Poppys eyes were full of confusion as she saw Ominis pull me out of the ball.
"If you wanted a reaction from me Alicia consider it done he huffed out. I will not stand to see that heathen touch you."
"It is none of your concern who touches me Ominis you have made it abundantly clear that you want nothing to do with me in that way.I seethed back at him, I am a single woman I am allowed to occupy my desires with anyone I choose."
Ominis growled in frustration but I walked back into the great hall and returned to Ashers side. "It worked didn't it? I swear I would be dead if looks could kill."
Ominis had returned to Poppy and lead her to the dancefloor.
Pulling her close he started on the next dance.
"You are not breaking up with me Sebastian Sallow!"
Saraphinas voice echoed in the great hall. Everyone looked towards their direction. Saraphina was wearing a black strapless dress that had cut outs leaing down to her hips. Her face was flushed with anger
"Saraphina you are making a scene but we are over, I can't stand to be with someone who is as self absorbed as you are. I thought it was just a mask but I was wrong we are over."
Saraphina smacked him before she left to find her friends.
My heart raced and my mind swirled with confusion why was he ending things with her when the quest wasn't over.
"I need some air Asher I will be back."
Asher nodded and let go of my arm.
I made my way outside, my emotions were everywhere, why had he ended things, it made everything we had done null in void. I was happy that they were over but upset and sad at the same time.
Anger filled me to the brim as all the pain I went through was for nothing.
I pointed my wand to my heart and cast myself into my animagus form.
Hiding my wand in the bushes next to the stairway I took off.

I darted into the forest the smells overwhelmed me I could smell everything.  I felt like I had been running for kilometers before I  came across a lake,
Walking to the edge I laid down.
The wind softly blew through my fur as I calmed myself down. I wimpered my emotions still ripping me through me like a tornado.
I heard branches snap in the distance and I perked my ears up and turned to face where the sound was coming from.
A man stepped out of the shadows I let a growl escape from my lips and snarled showing my teeth.
His aura was dark as ink shrouding him like a cloak.
"It's okay big wolf I'm not here to harm you, not yet anyways he said to his self."
I growled even louder as he approached.
Reading myself to attack if he got any closer. Sounds of footsteps came behind me and before I could turn around I felt a sharp pain in my back I went to attack but darkness overcame as I lost conciousness.
