*Poppys POV*

I had never been so thoroughly embarassed.
Thankfully I had made it to my room without anyone seeing the state of undress that I was in.
Tears erupted from my eyes falling down my face like tiny rivers.
I hated myself for what I have done.
I had ensared Ominis into a trap, my Grandma had demanded that I make it impossible for him not to accept my hand. As this match would be most advantageous for us.
She had grown accustomed to living in wealth.
I thought Ominis would forgive me eventually, as he knew the heavy weight of meeting the demands of your family but he gave me no time to explain.
Instead he had brutally forced himself on me in anger. I had never felt such a raw pain as this.
It was as if he had ripped me open and torn apart my soul.
Leaving nothing but an empty shell of a person.
I cried myself to sleep.
I was startled awake by my grandma.
"Honey you need to wake up Mistress Gaunt and Ominis want to take you dress shopping for your engagement party, get up and get ready.
Smoothing out my sleep clothes I rushed to the wardrobe and slid on my undergarments picking out a white dress with pink and blue flowers stitched into the bodice I tugged it over my head.
Fanny the house elf assigned to me buttoned me up inside the dress.
Maybe I could find time to get Ominis alone and explain myself to him. I would not survive this marriage if he continued on his cruel vendetta he had for me
Setting out with a new confidance I made my way to the carriage.
Ominis sat across from me my grandma at my side and his mothers at his.
He didn't even glance at me as if I was not there.
The ride to the shop was quiet.
We pulled up in front of a redbricked shop tucked away into the business district.
A heavy looking wooden sign hung on a post by the door Frannys Dresses And Suits.
My mouth gaped a little as we were at the most exclusive dress shop in all of London.
We quickly made our way inside.
The shop was a bit small but it was cozy. The walls a light brown, a few gowns and suits floated in the air. A large mirror was adorned to the wall, with a little pedestal in front of it.
Multiple chairs were covered in a soft velvet fabric.
All of them arranged behind it.
Butterflies awoke in my stomach.
"Lady Gaunt you do too much, I would have been perfectly fine within going to a shop with a lesser price."
"I will hear none of that now Poppy we shall be family soon. I would not have my family dressed in cheap rags.
Ominis had been staring out the window as if he wanted be anywhere else.
Everyone took their seats. "Franny we are ready to see the dresses you have pulled from your collection."
A middle aged woman with dark black hair with a few grey streaks came out of a door with 7 dresses trailing behind her.
"I have them here they are my finest ballgowns I have ever made."
"Lets try that black one with the green corseted top."
The dress flew down and the woman escorted me to one of the many fitting rooms.
"In here Miss, a house elf will arrive momentaraly to get the dress on."
As I begun to undress I heard voices coming through the air vent.
"Sebastian you must leave, it is not proper for you to be in here with me."
"You are not alone their a house elf to chaperone."
Laughter erupted from them both.
"Sebastian I swear on merlins beard if you don't go back to the main room I will curse you to never get it up again."
Sebastians laughter only grew. "If you did that you would be the only one dissatisfied that I couldn't. But I will go."
I heard the door shut, I regained focus and finished undressing.
"Louise is here to help you Miss."
I smiled and thanked her, looking into the mirror I felt like a dark princess,
The corset was black with intricate vines of green, the sleeves were long but were made of black tulle showing hints of my skin that laid beneath.the skirt billowed out from my waist with green crystals sewn into the bottom.
I made my way back to the sitting area.
Everyone but Ominis complemented the dress on me.
He had stopped looking out the window but they were still looking elsewhere. I traced his eye sight to the mirrored room that was ajoined to ours.
"What do you think Ominis?" his mother asked.
It was as if he had been in a trance, without even fully looking my way he said it would do.
He looked back into the room before he went up to pay.
