*Alicias POV*
My face had grown numb from the wind that lashed against it on the broom ride here.
As soon as my feet touched the ground I dismounted the broom and smoothed my dress and attempted to make my hair look like it hadn't just been twisted into knots, this was going to the most important interview I had it was the only time I could prove myself worth to fight for wizarding kind.
Xavior offered his arm and I took it as we walked into the tall grey building my nerves ran through my body.
I never expected it to happen this easily, I thought I would have time to hatch out a plan to show they needed me. Instead I only had hours, as we stepped into the elevator listening to the dings as it stopped at every floor Xaviors hand grasped mine, "Alicia you worry to much they know how valueable you are. You halted a rebellion in it's tracks you have mastered your ancient magic not to mention you were able to hand them much needed information that is already saving lives. They won't reject you they just might have stipulations."
My nerves calmed down as the last bing went off opening us up to the aurors floor.
Envelopes flew threw the air the hallways were crowded with people as we made our way to the head aurors office.
Xavior knocked on the worn wooden door. "Come in," the door creaked open as we stepped into an office that was crowded with filing cabinents and papers stacked so high up you could barely see the desk or the person sitting behind it.
"Good afternoon Longbottom, I am sorry to take up your time but I have a student here that is interested in helping solve The Pure case." Papers wizzed away as a man pulled himself out of the chair.
"Hi my name is Alicia Evermore, I know I am only a student but my capabilities and magic are far past a students. I helped get the first bits of info on this case and I would like to be included in the investigation if you will have me."
The man assesed me and smiled "I am William Longbottom it's always a pleasure to meet a student who is eager to aid their community. Expeically with your skill sets, it was quite a surprise to find out that you at such a young age were able to bring a rebellion to it's feet. Normally I would say no to such a request but I feel it would be foolish to pass on this oppurtunity. You know much of what we know we have only been able to determine the head of The Pure is a part of one of the 27 pureblood families. I will send you a letter when we are in need of your help. I don't mean to dismiss you so fastly but I don't have the time to chit chat. It was a pleasure to meet such a person as you."
Xavior and I made our fairwells and were on the way back to Hogwarts. The sun had fallen being replaced with the moons and stars, the wind was cold but it kept you awake.
As we flew out of London the noise sank away, it was quiet the silence unnerved me at times like this. Xavior flew in closer to me keeping even with my pace, I could feel that he also wasn't at ease as his eyes darted around.
A flash of redlight passed between us we quickly split from one another pushing our brooms to their maximum speed. My heart raced in my chest as the adrenaline flooded my body, I would use my new powers for an advantage I could hear two other people flying behind us and two other ones at our sides.
I motioned up to Xavior he quickly winked as we shot up into the sky. We heard them pass not noticing yet that we were no longer in front of him, "lets get the ones on the sides first than the ones in the middle." Xavior nods in agreement before spliting again I pulled out my wand and veered to the right quickly I could see the figure in the mist I was almost right behind him, I could hear his quickend breaths, before he turned around I shouted "Stupefy, depulso."
Knocking the man unconcious and knocking him off his broom. I could hear someone flying up to me I pinpointed where she was coming from and quickly managed to also depose her of her broom.
I could see two other figures ahead, Xavior was fighting hard but he had an open wound on his arm. The member of The Pure noticed and quickly began to manuver him relentlessly attacking trying to wear Xavior down.
Xavior and the man cast the same spell at the same time, causing both to be thrown off their brooms. I quickly stupefy the man keeping him from getting his broom back and than quickly flew and caught Xavior on my broom.
I flew as fast as I could to the nearest house. An old bricked farmhouse, that looked to be abandoned I quickly landed and tugged Xavior to his feet quickly entering the cabin we just needed privacy so I could heal him without the notice of muggles.
Xavior sat on the table his eyes remaining on me, as if he saw me as if I was someone new like he didn't know me.
"You know honestly, I figured you had to be powerful to overthrow a goblin rebellion almost all on your own. But I never could really grasp how strong until now."
"Episkey it's been a huge adjustment from being a muggle to being thrust into the wizarding world, at times I feel like I still do not know what I should. It has been rather the journey for me so far, but sometimes the weight gets a bit too much. But now that you are all patched up we need to go before more come and before morning.
We quickly mounted our brooms and took off not taking the leasurely pace we were before.
I didn't feel completely safe until my feet touched the grounds at Hogwarts.
Thank you again for stepping out onto a limb for me, I felt it was the right thing for me to get involved I owe you one Xavior Black." I smiled as I retreated to the students broom closet. Quickly opening the door and placing my broom inside. When I had closed the door Ominis was on the other side he looked furious and confused as his eyes darted to Xaviors retreating figure.
"What are you getting yourself into Alicia? He is a member of the Black family one who is suspected to be apart of The Pure or did you forget? I'm glad you have not turned to the drink for the pain you have been feeling but intangeling yourself with the vice Headmaster is almost worse. Are you trying to get expelled Alicia, could you not bare to see Anne and I together so much that you are doing anything to leave?"
Anger flushed into my veins like molten lava spewing from a volcano.
"Frankly Ominis I am no longer yours to be concerned about you have no right in lecturing me, even more so for such a farce of your imagination.
Xavior was simply helping me sign up for tasks at the ministry and I had asked for his help. Nothing more is going on between us two and for him being part of The Pure he is not one of them four of their members attacked us on the way here. They did not sway the attack away from him he fought for his life like I did."
"That only answers half my question Alicia I saw you and him in that classroom, it was more than just a favor you offered him. Which made it so clear to me that Anne was the right choice." His words stung into my heart, reopening freshly healed wounds I understood he was upset but I knew he had gone to far.
I slapped him across the face he stumbled back and looked startled never expecting me to lay a hand on him.
"You have absolutely no right to talk to me in such a manor, you made your choice Ominis you picked kind and gentle Anne, you picked security and safety. Which I didn't see coming, but the heart wants what it wants and I will never get in the way of that for you. You can respect me enough to do the same but maybe I had sorely misjudged your character." I began to walk away tired of my travels and the fight all I wanted was a hot shower and than bed.
Ominis grabbed my arm and spun me around pulling to me before his lips met mine, kissing me hungerly I tried to push him off but at some point I stopped fighting and kissed him back filling my veins with the firey desire only he could cause me.
I let myself go in the moment pressing my body up against his welcoming his touch before I dragged myself away from him and apparating to my room before he dragged me back.
My chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath as tears fell from my eyes. Why would he kiss me like that after leaving me for Anne it only deepend the wounds across my heart.
