The dust settles

*Ominis POV*

I filled Alicia on what information we got out of Saraphina.
After she had eaten her fill.
"As much as I hate to be the one to say this I think it's time to fill the teachers in on this. This is more than we can handle and they can reach out to the other schools about this." Alicia said.
"Sebastian but they would keep us from helping,this is a quest we started so why shouldn't we get to finish it?"
"Sebastian we have no connections with the other schools. I could owl Asher and Natsai could probably owl her connections who go to Uagadou but there are 8 other schools all over the world. We don't have the time to travel to all of them. This is much bigger than us now. And I'm sure I can persuade Professor Weasely into letting us protect Hogwarts."
Sebastian huffed.
"She is right Sebastian if you truely want to dismantle The Pure we are going to need more help than what we already have."
Ominis replied. "I hate when you two team up on me with your logical thinking. But I yield we can do it your way. With that I am heading back to the Slytherin dorms I am beat."
He apparated leaving Ominis and I alone.
Ominis scooted his cot up to mine and laid down pulling me close and wrapping his arms around me.
"I'm so sorry Alicia this was all my fault. Sebastian should have went with you and not me. He could have protected you."
She palmed my face in her hands and made me look her in the eyes.
"Ominis we all had risks to face in this quest, even if we got a do over I would still want you at my side. You made sure I was safe.
Sebastian might have protected me, but he would have prioritised the quest he would have dragged me somewhere and hid me but would have left me alone and unprotected. You managed to face off with Azalia and Saraphina and brought me to safety."
"I still...I will never forgive myself for freezing when they casted crucio. I let that word hold power over me, I was too weak to defend the woman that I love."
"Ominis you were brutally tortured for years with that curse. Even the strongest witch or wizard would freeze from that curse being uttered. Do not blame yourself."
"I can't wait till this is all over, I'm so excited to take you to our summer villa. The only quests we shall embark on are eating so much food till we barf and exploring Rome. We shall have to buy you a sun hat to keep you from getting burned though. I know you will absolutely love it."
"Now that we are at a stand still in this quest it is time for me to start practicing on melding my magic with the elements. I would like to have it under control before this year is over.
What were your nightmares like Ominis? If you don't mind me asking?"
"It was if my biggest fears came to life, truthfully I am still effected which is why I have trouble sleeping. My worst one was having to pick between Anne and Sebastian.
I still remember that one like it happened yesterday."
I pressed a soft kiss on her forehead.
"That must have been terrible,
How are you supposed to choose between the two people closest in your heart?"
"You don't, and you end up watching them both die. At least that's how it panned out for me."
"Crucio seems to do more than physical damage. Ominis you are the strongest man I know. I understand now why some victims of this curse have ended up in St Mungos."
"We should probably get some sleep we have Charms and Astronomy tomorrow. Maybe I can even see what actual constellations are. I burn for only you Alicia."  "As I do for you. Sweet dreams Ominis."
