*Ominis POV*
Dinner had ended awkwardly,
Saraphina glared at me as she made her way into her family carriage.
I was happy to see them go, I couldn't understand why Saraphina would put herself through the embarassment she brought on herself.
My father motioned me to follow him inside.
He walked into his study and quickly shut the door before back handing me hard enough to nearly knock me off my feet.
His face filled with anger and disgust.
"That little stunt of yours might have ruined our only chance to wed you to someone worthy of our last name. I don't care who this other girl is, but she better be of higher value than even the blacks or else you will have hell to pay. Your Mother might be satiated with your choice as she is desperate to get rid of you, but as long as you have my last name I will never allow you to marry someone of a lower class.
He sneered Saraphina is returning tomorrow and even if she is not in your favor you will treat her as such. Until you are bethrothed you will treat her as a prospect of marriage. If you embarass her again I will make sure you remember the pain I can cause to you."
I flinched remembering all the times he cast the crucio and imperio curse on me. It wasn't enough to cause me pain but he enjoyed watching me be forced to hurt myself.
"Yes sir I will be on my best behavior."
I bowed and walked out my whole self fuming with anger, I wished ardently that I had been born into another family.*Sebastians POV*
I had woken up early in hopes of making breakfast for Anne and I.
She had been quiet on the journey home. She had been very upset when she found out that Ominis was expected to be home for a few days before he could join us here in Feildcroft.
I still didn't know her intentions clearly as she has always been secretive when it came to her endevors.
I didn't know if she was upset because she wanted to keep him safe from his family or if she had intentions of pushing their friendship into more.
I lit the ovens fire as I prepared some of the groceries we had bought yesterday.
My mind wandered to Ali, wondering if she was awake and making breakfast for herself.
I felt a twinge of guilt in not trying harder to get her to stay with us.
I knew she lived alone in London and never spoke of anyone keeping her company while in London.
I didn't want her to be alone the whole week of spring break.
Expecially with such a weighing decision on her mind.
But rebuilding the bond that Anne and I once shared was too important to waste on searching all of London for Ali.
Anne needed me more than ever, she was having to watch the man she loved court her closest friend I can't imagine it was easy for her to withstand expecially knowing that she came back mainly for Ominis.
It stung to know that if not for him she would have remained in the Americas.
I quickly took eggs and bacon off the stove and plated them before toasting the break in the left over grease slathering them in butter when they were done.
An owl hooted from the window clasping a letter between it's claws.
I took the letter and gave the owl a gallion and a bit of bacon before it flew off.Anne & Sebastian Sallow
It is our pleasure to invite you to The Gaunt gala.
Formal attire is required, we hope that you will attend.I was shocked even though we were a pureblood family, we were very low in the ranks of the Pureblood 28 families.
Suspicions rose in me wondering why we had finally been included. I wanted to burn the letter but I knew Anne would love to attend the Gala and it would be a chance for her to see Ominis and convince him to come back with us after the gala ended.
I did not want to deny her of any happiness, she had always wanted to attend one of the spring galas that the Gaunts were in charge of.
I placed the letter down and set the kettle full of water onto the stove, preparing to steep Annes favorite tea.
Her door slowly opened and she smiled when the smell of eggs and bacon hit her nose.
"Seb you didn't have to do all of this!"
I smiled at her when her gaze fell hungerly onto the plates of food.
"Of course I did it's our first day back together in this house, I had to make it a good one, I have many things planned as well if you wish to spend anymore time with me."
My nerves got the best of me I wanted to fully explain myself and apologise for all the pain I had caused her, in my obsession in trying to cure her.
She had not given me the proper chance to explain my side of things.
Anne bit her lip her brows pulled together as she got lost in her mind.
"I don't know Seb but breakfast together is a good start."
I pushed the letter to her side of the table, smiling as I saw her eyes widen when she read the invitation.
"I think this is just cause for us to go to a suit and dressmakers as our current wardrobe would not be acceptable at such an exclusive event." I grabbed the coin purse and apparated Anne and I to the front of a small dress shop Annes smile lit up as her eyes found the colorful dresses splayed out on display in the windows.
She quickly made her way in with me behind her.*Annes POV*
Madam Olivia stepped away from the desk and ensared Anne into a warm embrace. "Oh how much you look like your mother Anne, I am so happy that your illness has been cured.
What do I owe this great pleasure for?"
"Seb and I have been invited to the Gaunt Spring Gala, we need a new suit for Seb and a dress for me. It is nice to see you Olivia I trust you can make us look as if we belonged at this event. My Mother often spoke highly of her best friends fashion abilities."
Olivia smile widened as she thought of my Mother,
I have the perfect gown for you I have been toying with it just for fun but you shall outshine any woman of high class at this Gala. Olivia rushed into the back before pulling a maniquin out. The gown was absolutely stunning, it was hard to believe she had been designing just from an idea.
She quickly pulled the gown off and pushed me into a dressing room. Her house elf helped me dress into it. As I stepped out Seb let out a whistle. "You will most deffinately outshine anyone at this gala Anne."
I blushed before I looked into the mirror which made my jaw drap.
The pale lavender gown molded to my body before it flared out at my hips. Silver patterens made of silk spun into peonies and daisys embrodered into the bodice. Light blue and green crystals were sewn into the middle of the flowers and were placed all over the matching lavender chiffon that overlaid the satin silk of the skirt and the sleeves of the dress showing hints of my bare arms underneath.
The neckline should have been modest but with my ample bust it almost looked to revealing to be acceptable.
The pale lavender made my tan skin glow and my eyes seemed to be more open and bright. I looked like a princess I smiled knowing that Ominis would not be able to take his eyes off me.
I could barely take my eyes off my own reflection.
Seb walked out in a typical dress suit but he also looked overly handsome in it. He was quite dashing I knew he would find no issue with dancing with all the available ladies at this gala.
"How much do we owe you for these wonderful masterpieces."
Seb asked her.
"Absolutely nothing my dears, your Mother would beat me over the head if I dared charge you for my creations when I freely gave them to her. If you are ever in need of new clothes do not hesitate to come to me. The least I could do is at least spoil her children in that way."
She quickly put two garment bags on the counter filled with our attire. Before we could refute her generousity.
She shood us out the door without giving us time to say our thanks.
Sebastian apparated us back home I quickly hung my garment bag up I wanted so terribly to put it on and live in it but I dare not dirty or ruin it before the gala.
I ran over to Seb and hugged him surprise filled his face before he embraced me back smiling. "Anne lets make some dinner we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.
