*Ominis POV*
I waited in the carriage for Poppy she was under the assumption I was just taking her out to dinner.
My parents were thrilled as they had noticed my cold behavior towards her, and thought I was doing this as a sign that I had happily accepted her.
I shifted my legs, I glanced out into the grounds I still almost didn't believe what I was seeing was real.
With my wand I was able to see shapes. I never expected the world to look the way it does.
I was excited to finally get to see what Hogwarts looked like.
If only I could weasel my way out of this marriage and keep the ring.
The carriage door opened slowly and Poppy made her way in.
She was wearing a dark sapphire blue dress with a matching winter cloak.
Her hair was pinned back leaving a few curls to frame her face.
She was a beauty I could not deny that.
He green eyes carefully studied me.
As if she was waiting for me to turn into the beast I was the other night.
I did feel a twinge of guilt over it, I had taken my anger out on her. I still would not apologise for my behavior.
If she would have kept herself from manipulating me, things would be different.
"Ominis I beg of you to let me at least explain myself."
"You have until we get to The leaky cauldren."
"When I first admited my feelings towards you I never dreamed we would wed.
I felt my station was way too low in life to even see it as a possibility.
My feelings for you have never been a farce.
When my Grandma found out we were courting she changed.
We faught often over you she wanted to make sure you would not be able to refuse my hand.
I told her no so many times but she wouldn't take no for an answer. She guilted me about her welfare and what would happen to her when she managed to get her own place. She said she could afford nothing and would be homeless while I enjoyed my time at Hogwarts.
She got on her knees and begged me to get wed to you or else she would surely die.
I am rather niave when it comes to the people I love.
I took her threats sincerely, if I could go back and stay firm in my resolve I would, if you give me the chance to make up my errors I will promise to be the wife you want me to be."
She looked at me trying to gage my reaction.
"I will think on it, I will admit my anger got the best of me, my head is much calmer now. Now before we walk in I need you to know we are on a quest.
I can't tell you what quest it is but we are going to be spying on a meeting. So we need to converse and act like normal. Your eyes need to remain on mine. If they even think we are intentionally eavesdropping we could be in serious danger."
She nods in agreement a faint smile crossed her face.
The carriage comes to a stop at what looks like a ran down tattered house.
Getting out of the carriage we made our way inside. Music and laughter filtered out the door when we opened it the clink of glasses made noise in the background. It was dimly lit.
Tables and booths were filled with witches and wizards while the wait staff ran to the kitchen and back to the tables with food and drink.
I looked around this bunch probably wanted to fit in but they also didn't want to attract any unwanted attention.
There was a group of 6 that were in booth near the back no booming laughter or shouts were coming from them. I looked away as if I was looking for seating.
Looking back over I saw a table about two table lengths away.
Placing Poppys arm into mine I lead her to the table and sat.
Looking at the menu I made casual conversation with Poppy about the food.
The group had gotten quiet, thanks to being blind my whole life my hearing was exceptional so I could still hear their conversation. Even more so when they felt like we were paying no attention to them.
I called a wait staff over and placed our order in.
"As you know we have begun the next part of our quest the man in the corner of the booth said.
We started off in London slowly escilating the attacks but it's just the start.
We are now attacking the smaller villages. And that is where you all come in.
Your first task of joining The Pure is commiting one of these assaults. Better if you can kill them but beating them to a pulp will suffiice for now.
You have two weeks."
The man slid a handfull of gallions from his pocket and left them on the table before getting up and leaving.
I continued my conversation with Poppy as the rest of the people started talking.
Wondering if they were just being lead into a trap or if it was the real deal. They assigned themselves to villages, and than also took off.
Our food shortly arrived, I wasn't hungry as at least I could tell Sebastian and Alicia what towns were going to be attacked.
"So I'm assuming you,Sebastian and Alicia are planning on stopping these attacks and The Pure?"
"Something along those lines but you must swear not to tell a single soul.
If it's found out that Sebastian is getting involved he could end up in Azkaban."
"You can consider it an act of good measure of me trying to amend at least our friendship, I won't tell a soul."
I smiled at her and linked arms until we made our way back into the carriage.*Sebastians POV*
It was the day before the engagement party, so Ali and I had decided to go into town not only to pick up her dress but to also stop at Borgin and Burkes to have the floo powder analysed and see if we could find out who it belonged too.
It had been torture to not confront Ali on what she had done.
Anger festered in my veins when I thought about her losing her innocense to Ominis.
I wanted to strangle them both,
at the same time I know my own hands were not clean in this.
I had pretty much been the reason why they were even able to get as close as they were.
It explained why they had smelt so much like one another.
It explained why they would stop their conversations in front of me.
Sighing in frustration I looked out too see if Alicia was making her way over.
Her hair was pulled up into a braid her cheeks were flushed with cold. She was wearing a green dress with a black winter cloak draped over.
She slipped in and sat down across from me.
"I'm sorry I was a bit late Poppy wanted to talk to me."
"It's alright we have plenty of time, I say we go to Diagon Alley first and start on this lead."
"I would like to find out who this person is. If we can get a name The Pure won't be nameless anymore. It will be much easier to take them down. My dress can get picked up later."
I wanted to get under her skin, I wanted to see if her feelings for him were serious. "I can't believe Ominis is going to be a married man soon. It's hard to believe it feels rushed as if there was a reason. I wonder if she is carrying his child." I watched her as the words came out.
Her face had always been so easy for me to read.
I could see thet she was jealous and upset as it flashed across her face before she hid behind her mask.
"I don't know but if she is he is doing the right thing, Poppy would be utterly ruined if she had a child out of wedlock."
The carriage pulled up to The Leaky Cauldren and we got out giving the driver a few gallions.
But I was right to think that they had serious feelings for one another.
Alicia was not one to get jealous about someone who was just a friend.
When we had first met she cared not for the girls who were all over me.
But as soon as we began courting her jealousy grew to where she even jinxed a girl for looking at me too long.
"Seb snap out of it people are looking at us." As she made her way into the Leaky Cauldren. We made our way into the back room and tapped against the wall with my wand.
The bricks began to reform into a door. The cold crip air hit both of our faces when we went through the door. The cobblestoned robbes were full of wizards and witches.
Stalls lined up on the front of the buildings. The shops themselves were made of brick with wide viewing windows into the front.
Letters zoomed through the air and houseleves were running around collecting the shopping items for the witch or wizard that owned them.
Venders yelled about their wares. As we walked off the main alley the lights grew dimmer and the buildings were made of a dark wood that was faded with age.
It always felt like someone was watching your every move in this area.
We made our way down to the most rundown shop and opened the door.
"Welcome to Borgin and Burkes." An old woman drowled out.
"We have come to see if you can trace who this floo powder belongs too." Alicia pulled out the vial.
"That will be 20 gallions."
Alicia quickly gave the woman the money.
The old woman took the money and the vial and went over to her cauldren.
She pulled half a dozen ingreadients and mixed them together, she cast a spell and emptied the vial into the cauldren.
Smoke billowed out from it and it started to boil over.
She grabbed the cauldren and emptied it out onto a piece of parchment. The leftover floo powder turned into a family crest.
"Whoever this belonged to belongs in the Black Family."
"Thank you for your help." Alicia said before we walked out both of us silent.
We both were in shock could our headmaster or his daughter involved in this.
We quickly went and got her dress before we returned to the Gaunt manor.
