*Alicias POV*
I was awoken with owls screaming at my windows, I stumbled over to the window and opened it letting the owls inside. Both pecked at my fingers as they dropped the letters into my hand.
They say owls are full of wisdom but they sure were testy, any irritation caused to them they always retaliated.
Focusing on the letters I opened the letter with the ministries wax seal. My hands trembled, it was time for the next journey in my life.Dear Miss, Evermore it is time for you to begin your work for the ministry, we have heard whispers that Marx Black has recently began to occupy his families oldest estate. There have been whispers that he is keeping a hostage there. Come swiftly with Xavior Black we will be in need of his assitance, if you do not trust him I understand. But I can atone for the young man that his opinions differ from his families.
-Longbottom
I grabbed the next letterAlicia Anne has been kidnapped, I know you have cast a break the bond spell on all of us. But we need your help in getting her back. The Pure has taken her as a barganing chip. Please come to the undercroft with great haste. I know she hasn't been the best friend you deserve but don't let that sway you from helping.
-Ominis GauntMy heart would have stung with his formalities towards me, but with the bond broken I felt nothing.
I quickly wrote backOminis have Seb come with you and meet me at Xavior Blacks office. The ministry might know where he is keeping Anne they just now sent me a letter explaining their need for my help. Time is in fact in dire straights, it is of the essense we get moving. Do not air your petty grievences to Xavior he is a kindred spirit to you as he is also the black sheep of his own family. It seems I have a soft spot for the outcasts.
-Alicia EvermoreI quickly grabbed my riding gear and made my way to Xaviors office pulling my gear on as I went.
My heart was racing knowing that Anne was in hands of Marx Black, I ran until I entered his office to witness the three men in my life arguing.
"You will not be coming, the ministry has not asked you two to come. I will make sure to return your sister to your side."
"Xavior we must take them they will simply follow and Ominis already knows where that estate lies. They do not need our help to find it."
Xavior sighed in frustration. "I only have the authority to apparate you and myself to the headquarters your friends will not make it there in time on broom."
"I have my ways we will meet you there." Said Ominis with that Seb and Ominis left the office.
"Are you ready Alicia? This isn't a mission you can pull off alone I will remain at your side at all times to support you."
I smiled at him, "Xavior I have thought about what you had spoken about the other night, I will not start this mission with unspoken thoughts. You were right about those two neither are a good match for me so I broke the bonds between us. His eyebrows lifted in surprise.
With that being said I am no longer grieving a love that I lost. I am not ready to court yet, but you will be the first person on my mind when I am ready." Xavior smiled and pulled me closer.
He apparated us to a small desolate field the crops that once filled these fields were long gone. All that remained was the brittle dirt that crunched beneath our feet.
"Have you known all along that your brother was the head of this organization?"
Xavior stopped and halted me quickly pulling a small tent out of his bag.
He opened it up and pulled me into the tent with him.
He cast a spell so we were well hidden.
"It would take months to fully outline everything about my brother and I. We are only a year apart and once we were very close. He pulled out a pensive and pourd water into it before pulling memories out and into it.
It will be much easier to see it, go ahead I hope it only solidifies to you that I am at your side only."
I quickly dipped my head into the water knowing we really had no time to waste.*memories*
I watched as two dark haired boys ran around a dimly lit house, their laughter filled the sullen halls.
The smaller one looked about 9 his cheeks were still slightly rounded. The older one looked 10 his face was just barely a bit more mature.
The younger one stumbled over a wooden leg of a display case and a beautiful vase with the most intricate designs crashed down onto the ground shattering into pieces.
Both boys instantly stopped playing and fear swarmed over their features. "What have I told you boys about running in my house! A raspy old voice bellowed from the doorway.
As his eyes looked around the room his eyes finally landed on the vase that was in pieces on the carpet.
His tall frame towered over them, the little boys cowered the older one had done his best to shield the younger. This is how you repay me for letting you live here, even though the presense of your weak father and the two of you makes me sick. Knowing my legacy will rot in your hands. The man spat out, who broke the vase? Tell me now or both of you will recive the whip."
"I did it, I tripped and knocked it over it was my fault." The older boy stood up, trying to keep his face calm as the younger one burst into tears as the old man dragged his older brother away. Wailing even more clutching himself and wincing with every scream he heard echo throughout the house.
Anger roared to life in me as the scene twisted into the familiar halls of Hogwarts.
A boy with thick black hair and dancing blue eyes chased a girl with long blonde hair their laughter erupting from their mouths when they were not apologising for running into another student.
He had caught her out on the grounds outside of the great hall they tumbled together legs getting entangled as they fell down.
He pushed him self up and pulled her up and brushed the hair out of her face.
"Hiyacinthe did you really think you could outrun me? He smirked when he noticed the defiance grow on her eyes.
I will always be faster than you and I will always catch you."
She jokingly pushed him and a blush spread across her face when she had noticed how his eyes wandered her face.
"Marx you do know how to make a girl swoone over your charming words." I watched the memories of them sweep by, I had never seen two people more in love than they. The next memory. Hiyacenthe and Marx were older, a boy who looked so much like Marx stood in the corner. His face contorted in horror. I looked back and Hiyacinthes clothes were soiled and dirty as if she had been in this basement for many days. Fear was the only expression on her face.
The old man had her tied to a chair that sat next to him his sunken orbs stared at Marx.
"You will always be a stupid brat Marx a waste of life a waste to this family. Did you think I would not find out that you were going to rid yourself of your family name? Your shit of a father knows better . Even he knows the importance of it and would never bring this kind of shame on this family."
"I am not my father I am not weak I will not bend to your will not now not ever, you need to release her at once or I will go to the authorities!"
The old man cackeled before a sly smile spread across his lips.
"Try my boy I am no fool this room is magicked there is no escape until I say so.
You will put a stop to this daliance, what a shame though she does come from a pureblood family and she is quite the beauty.
What a shame it would be if the lights went out in her eyes,
No Marx Black you are not allowed to abandon your family, are you that willing to leave your brother alone with me?
Oh the punishments he will recieve for you wrong doing, but alas you also took many of the beatings that belonged to him maybe it's time for him to pay you back.
Marx glanced at his brother face morphed into so many different emotions.
"What do you really want old man? I know it isn't just to keep yourself from being an embarassment." His words laced with hatred.
"We shall make an unbreakable vow, that you will uphold my standards and ideals that I want in the Black family. If you do that your pretty lady here will be free and your brother will remain unharmed with our without you present."
The deal was struck as the memories wizzed by Marx dissapeared the old man had finally passed leaving his possesions to Xaviors father.
It settled to a cozy room that was finely decorated a roaring fire in the fireplace. Headmaster Black was sitting in the chair closest to the fire while reading a newspaper.
Saraphina was laying on a couch reading the astrology textbook.
Xavior much more resembled his current self he was standing at the window looking into the shadows.
The front doors slammed open and Marx charged in he was tall and muscualar his ink black hair cascaded down in waves just below his shoulders.
He was intimidating, I could not believe this was the man I would be facing.
"Not all at once come to greet your greatly missed brother," his voice was silky smooth as if it could almost caress you. It was the same voice from the cloaked man who came to visit me.
Xavior bolted from the window and ensnared his brother in a hug. Saraphinas face was filled with curiousity as she looked at Marx I had never realised that she had never known Marx until this moment.
More memories swept by moments where Xavior began to question why his brother enjoyed hearing about the attacks and murders of muggleborns.
A small study appeared the walls lined with books two plush chairs sat in front of the fire and the wooden desk was tucked into a corner.
Two men stormed into the room both filled with anger.
"Why brother why are you so changed? You would never find happieness in the pain of others but I often find you filled with glee when you hear of the pain that is being caused. My brother is not like that at all I beg of you to tell me why you dissapeared and why does this stranger appear in front of me?"
"Xavior to only be as naive as you, to not have to cary the burden of this family on your back. I am changed I will never be the same I am binded to be what I am. While you get to live the life I want, to do as you please to fall in love with whomever you want. While I am here sufforing with what was given to me, unwillingly I gave up my right to a good life in order to protect you.
I will endulge in others pain as it will never compare to the pain I felt when I let Hiyacenthe go. I am who I am afterall I am a Black, that old man was correct I will always be sworn to carry on his ideals."
"There has to be a way to break you from this vow."
"Only death shall part me from this. There is no getting out of it. But I have overstayed my welcome, I don't need to drag you into this. Marx looked at him and smiled before he apparated.
*memories over*I came back to reality, almost shell shocked at the life Xavior had to live through. You would never be able to tell that he had such an ugly childhood with the way he behaved.
"Death is the only way to break the vow, I intend of freeing him of it. Deep inside Marx is the same brother I once new before this vow twisted him to it's command. I fully intend to give him his only want in life."
We got out of the tent and he quickly took it down and put it away.
"Are you sure you can kill your own brother Xavior? I can tell the bond between you is strong even with all the time apart."
"I would never forgive myself if he was sent to azkaban only to be tortured by the dementors. Death is the only option to end his suffering."
We fell into a comfortable silence as we continued our walk until Sebastian and Ominis apparated by our side.
