SIX MONTHS LATER
Leni won as Mayor in Naga City. She's been occupied for the last three months with campaign, celebrations, transition of power, inauguration, and many more. She's too occupied to even remember when was the last time Bongbong messaged her.
"Ma, kakain na!" Jill called her mom who's been watching news on the couch. Leni was in QC for the whole week for some speaking engagements and meetings.
"Anong ulam niluto nyo?" Leni asked as she stood up and checked the food on their table.
Aika and Jill looked at each other briefly before looking at their mom, "Padala 'to ni Tito Bong, ma." Aika said.
"Ohh" Leni nodded slowly.
Aika and Jill looked at each other. They knew what happened six months ago although they haven't talked about it as a family.
"Kain na tayo." Leni said, already seated.
Aika and Jill occupied the their seats and they all say a short prayer. They observed their mom serving herself with the dish from Bongbong. She's acting like everything's fine and the world wasn't on fire.
"Ma, nga pala, nasabi na ba sayo ni Patty na uuwi sya sa birthday nya?" Aika started.
Leni frowned. "Hindi pa. Kailan ang flight nya para masundo natin sya sa airport?"
"Next next week daw po. Send ko sayo yung flight details nya." Aika said.
Leni nodded. "Buti naman para makapag-celebrate tayo ng birthday nya ng sama-sama."
"Actually ma uuwi si Ate Trish hindi dahil sa birthday nya." Jill started.
Leni looked at her youngest daughter.
"Uuwi sya kasi aattend sya ng SONA ni Tito Bong." Jill revealed.
"Aattend kaming tatlo ng SONA, ma." Aika followed.
There's silence in the dining area after that until Leni cleared her throat.
"Uh yeah yeah sure!" Leni stammered. "Uh okay yan. Baka makita kayo sa tv."
"Ininvite kami ma ni Tito Bong. Hindi muna namin sinabi sayo kasi busy ka pa sa Naga eh. Gusto namin sabihin sayo ng personal." Jill said.
Leni nodded, trying her best to smile. "Sure. No problem, uh may mga damit na ba kayong isusuot? Ano ba uh—"
Jill cut her mom off, "Meron na po."
"Nung ininvite po kami ni Tito Bong sabi nya sya na daw bahala sa mga gown namin. Pinapunta nya si Tito JC sa Bahay Pangulo para masukatan kami tapos pinadala nalang ni Patty yung measurement nya." Aika said.
Leni nodded slowly. She didn't have any idea all of that happened. "Ohh uh okay okay."
"Okay lang ba yun sayo ma?" Jill asked.
Leni nodded, "Oo naman!" She chuckled, trying to avoid the awkwardness. "Kung may kailangan kayo magsabi lang kayo. Pero uupo lang naman kayo dun—"
Aika cut her mom off, "Hindi ma."
Leni frowned.
"Sasama po kami kay Tito sa chopper from Malacañan to Congress." Aika spilled.
Leni's eyes widened. She knew what that meant. She knew that part. "Isasama nya kayo sa chopper?!"
Aika and Jill nodded.
"First family ang nandun usually..." Leni's voice trailed off, realizing something.
"Tsaka uupo kami ma dun sa taas, sa may center. Kasama ng mga kapatid ni Tito Bong." Jill followed.
Leni's jaw dropped. Her daughters will stand as Bongbong's daughters during the SONA. They will be the first family.
