Bongbong woke up and checked his phone for some text messages, emails, and missed calls. He replied to some before getting out of the bed. He also texted Leni;
To: FL 5:03am
Good morning, hon! Sorry for our misunderstanding last night. Let's work it out pls. I love you so much! Message me if you're free. Take care.
She never read his message, so he figured that she's still asleep. He just go on with his usual routine because it's gonna be a full day today.
It's already 12 noon, Bongbong took his lunch and realized that Leni hasn't replied to him at all. He frowned and message her again;
To: FL 12:15pm
Hi, hon! How are you? Nasa city hall ikaw? Please take care. Kung kaya mong makauwi ng maaga, pls do para makapagrest ka. I love you. Message me if you're free. I miss you!
He sighed after waiting a minute for her reply which didn't came.
He then got stuck in meetings for the remainder of the day. After cabinet meeting, he went straight to meet the Tourism and Budget Department. It's already 6:30pm when he got to his office, finally done with all his meetings for the day.
Jasmine, his assistant came in for some last clarification. "Sir, ito na yung guest list para sa birthday party nyo next week."
"Thanks!" He nodded, receiving the folder. He took a quick scan and saw one unknown VIP guest. He sighed.
"May papabago po kayo?" Jasmine asked.
He nodded. "Tanggalin nyo na 'tong isang VIP." He pointed it out. Weeks ago, when they're still planning for the party, he told his staff that he needs 1 VIP seat reserved, probably seated next to him.
"Hindi na po makakaattend si Mayor?" Jasmine's voice trailed off.
Bongbong looked at her surprised, "How di—"
Jasmine cut him off, "Medyo alam na po ng lahat ng tao dito sa palasyo ang tungkol dyan."
Bongbong just shook his head. "Ang lala ng chismis talaga dito!"
Jasmine smiled, stopping herself from laughing because what he said was true.
"Anyway, yes, she's not coming. Ibigay nyo nalang sa iba yung seat." He said, a bit sad.
Jasmine felt him. "Sure po kayo? Baka po humabol naman si Madam? Just in case lang po na dumating sya, at least may reserved seat sya sa katabi nyo."
He shook his head. "Thanks for the enthusiasm, pero mukhang malabo. She has other priorities. Busy sya sa Naga. Pero malay mo next year may time na sya for my birthday, diba?"
Jasmine nodded. She's hurting for him.
He then realized that Leni hasn't reply to him at all. Not even a single message. He frowned and message her again;
To: FL 6:39pm
Hon? Where are you? Nakauwi ka na ba? Please reply, I'm getting worried. Call me if you're free. Pauwi na 'ko. I love you. Take care!
He decided to just call it a day and went home. He's constantly checking his phone so he could answer right away if ever she decideds to call him.
He got home at 7:10pm, but before he decided to have dinner, he tried to call her.
No answer.
He frowned. He's getting worried.
He called Aika, luckily, she answered.
"Hello, Aiks? Nakauwi ka na ba?"
"Hello po, tito! Hindi pa po eh. Kasama ko po si JM, mag didinner po kami. Bakit po?"
