I slid the knife closer and closer until I could get a steady grip on the handle. My hand latched onto it and moved before Ghostface could end my life. I stabbed the knife up towards him, stabbing him right in the chest. Blood poured out, covering my face. I gagged and closed my eyes as I was painted red.
"You.... bitch..." Ghostface dropped his knife and fell to the side. I kicked his body off of me and sat up, pushing my back to the wall. I could hear his breathing stop behind the mask. I had officially killed the Ghostface.
My hand hesitantly reached towards the mask, lifting it up to take it off. What was underneath wasn't expected. A man who I did not recognize laid dead on my floor. Gray slicked back hair along with a goatee beard laid completely still. Somehow, I was able to strike him in the heart.
I pushed myself up off the ground and ran outside. The cop car was right in the front. How useful they were. I ran over to it and hit the window aggressively.
"Help me! Hello?" There wasn't an answer from either of the cops inside the car. I realized the door was unlocked and opened it wide to see white eyes staring at me, accompanied by a slit throat. The other officer was the same, except with stabs all over the torso area.
My knees went weak, and I felt like I was going to vomit. I held back my tears and went back inside my house. I slammed the door shut, but my emotions didn't settle. Not with the dead man that I had just killed laying on the floor. It didn't take long for me to get on my phone and call 911.
"911, what is your emergency?"
"There are two dead officers.... I just killed the Ghostface." I swallowed my tears as I spoke. My body felt heavy, resulting in falling to the floor on my knees. A trembling hand covered my mouth as I started to uncontrollably sob.
"Officers are on the way. Just stay on the phone with me." The sweet lady spoke. Her voice sounded so calm and relaxed, given the situation.
She wasn't lying. The cops showed up minutes while being on the phone. Either that or I've lost touch with time. I was so distraught that I even forgot about my own wound. The loss of blood was making me feel dizzy.
Luckily, there was also an ambulance that had shown up. If they didn't, I might have died. Paramedics had me lay down on a stretcher. A few cameras started to snap along with the blinding police lights. It reminded me all to much of that night. Except this time was different. This time I won.
"Y/N? Y/N, are you there?" A familiar voice yelled out my name.
"Sir, you have to stay back."
"I know her, I have to see her." My eyes were closed, too heavy to keep open. I could still tell it was Jed's voice. I heard him enter the ambulance along with two paramedics.
"Y/N?" A hand was placed gently on my shoulder.
"You have to move." A male voice said as the hand was taken away from me. They started to patch up my wound, stopping the blood.
"Jed...?" I opened my eyes slightly, still feeling dizzy and out of it. Sure enough, Jed was pushed to the side in the ambulance. His eyes were wide and full of worry when he looked at me.
"She'll be fine. Definitely needs surgery, though." One of the paramedics said before I completely passed out. It was as if my mind needed reassurance before going black.

I woke up to the familiar beeping of a heart monitor. I could already tell I was in the hospital before I opened my eyes. The second I did open my eyes, I was blinded by the bright light and completely white room.
I looked over to see Jed asleep sitting up in a chair. His head was leaning against the wall, and his arms were crossed over his chest.
"Jed...?" I croaked. My throat was completely dry from surgery. Damn tube that made sure I stayed breathing.
I moved in the bed to turn more towards him, letting out a yelp of pain before moving back to my previous position. My side was completely bandaged up and hurt like hell. The adrenaline made it hurt less when it happened. Without the threat of death, it hurt much worse.
"Y/N?" Jed woke up almost instantly, rushing to my side. "How are you feeling?"
I opened my mouth to answer his question but was cut off by someone coming into the room. A nurse was there, checking my vitals.
"How are you feeling?" She asked the exact same question.
"A lot of pain." I answered honestly, looking between the two. The nurse nodded and wrote down a small note on a clipboard.
"I'll bring you pain meds." She left the room before stepping aside for someone else to enter. A cop walked in, looking between Jed and I.
"There she is. The hero of the day." He had a wide smile, obviously talking about how I had killed the Ghostface.
"Who was he?" I asked, curious of the true identity. I found it odd that I didn't know him out of the Ghostface costume.
"His name was Ace Visconti. A gambler and quite the smooth talker." The cop answered.
"Is he really dead?" I asked a relatively dumb question. I've seen slasher movies, I know the bad guy is never really dead.
The cop nodded, proving this wasn't a movie and was real life. I couldn't help but think why he stayed around me so long. I mean, I literally slept beside him and didn't get killed. Maybe it was all a mind game. Get me to trust him, so I felt more than physical pain when he stabbed me. Well that didn't happen. I won this fight.
