"Wait."

Huminto si Verene sa paglalakad kaya napahinto na rin ako. Humarap ako sa kaniya at tinignan siya ng may pagtataka. She looked at me from head to toe, her right eyebrow raised up as she met my eyes.

"Wear your uniform properly. Fix your buttons."

"But I'm comfortable this way." She is still looking at me with a serious face. "Fine, three buttons?" But she didn't flinch. I sighed, nakakaramdam akong hindi ko siya mapapakiusapan. "Okay, five buttons."

She lazily looked at me and let go of my hand. Ayoko pa sana bitawan kaso may kalakasan niyang hinila ang kamay niya.

Sabi ko nga wala akong choice kung hindi sundin siya.

"Fine, aayusin ko na yung uniform ko." She raised both of her eyebrows to confirm what I said. "Properly. "

She nodded. "Bilisan mo para matapos tayo agad."

As if naman na hahayaan kong maka-uwi kami agad. Ayoko na mabilis matapos ang date namin. So, I take my time doing my buttons. Panaka-naka ko minsan tinitignan ang reaksyon niya, tahimik lang siya nanunuod at binabantayan ang kilos ko. Napabilis ako nang pagkabit nang taasan niya ko ng kilay matapos niya ko mahuling nakatingin sa kaniya.

"Done na." I showed myself to her. "I followed what you said. Are we all good?"

She bit her lower lip while checking my outfit. She really looks sexy when she does that.

"Much better, let's go."

As soon as we started walking, I grabbed her hand in mine. I'm pleased she didn't say anything about it. She'll have to get used to it. Because I'm going to do this every time we get together. I adore her hands; they feel like they were designed to hold mine.

We went straight to the department shop where the containers were located. It didn't take us long to figure out where the containers were. She is quite knowledgable about where we would be able to find what we were looking for. If we keep going at this rate, our date will be over shortly. I need to do something that will take us a while.

Binitawan niya ang kamay ko at nagsimula na mag-check ng mga container.

"Here." She showed me a clear container. "You don't need fancy containers in your car, right? Okay na 'to."

I shook my head. "Nah, too simple."

"Tell me what your preferences are. So I'll know what to pick for you." She said while putting back the container in its place. "Or maybe you can choose for yourself."

"Hindi ko rin alam gusto ko. Just show me something, and I'll think about it if that's what I want."

She didn't say anything. Nagtitingin-tingin lang siya sa mga naka display na container.

"What would be appropriate for your car?" Pagtanong niya sa sarili niya.

Sa totoo lang, kahit simpleng container ayos na sa'kin. Okay na nga sa'kin yung clear kanina. Paglalagyan ko lang naman ng tambak kong damit. I don't need fancy or branded containers, pare-parehas lang naman silang pinaglalagyan. Need ko lang talaga pa tagalin ang date namin. I want to be with her for a long period of time.

"How about this?" She showed me another container. This time it has a color on its edges. "What's your favorite color? There's so many to choose from."

I shook my head firmly. "Ang baduy, ayoko niyan."

"Okay. Let's go over there. Mas marami doon." She put it back again bago naunang maglakad.

"Hindi man lang ako hinintay." I said to myself. I put my hands in my pockets before following her.
