Good afternoon, parents/guardians!
This email is to let you know that your kiddo had a paper due in class on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week. This is the second summative assignment for this grading period.
As of 12:00pm on 12/14, I still have not received your student's paper. This means that they currently have a 0 for a test grade.
We worked on this paper entirely in class, taking three full days for pre-writing and drafting and one full day to type and submit in class. I spoke with the students to remind them of whose submissions I had received and whose I still needed before they left class.
I am still taking submissions for partial credit through the end of the weekend. If your kiddo can submit their final draft on Canvas in our assignment dropbox by
11:59 on Sunday evening, it is still eligible for partial credit. We have used Canvas all year, and I showed them how to submit to Canvas as we worked together in class. So, they should be comfortable with this process. However, if your kiddo feels uncertain about turning it in to Canvas, they need to come see me at some point today to have any of their questions answered, before the weekend begins. I have reminded them of this as well. I am available during all classes today, during 5th period (when the faculty-student volleyball game is taking place), as well as after school until about 4:00.
