Journal Entry # 7 Wednesday 2017
One day in PE, we were in the small gym, Coach Masshell made us play a sort of pass it game. I'd've preferred dodgeball. We were paired up, by the coach, and lined up in our pairs down the gym.
Briar was paired with Cole Brycen. Lester Gives was paired with Tasha Vail. Cody Zacharia was paired with Kipper Memphis. Stella Fae with Marc Walis. Tabby Hope with Ryan Blair. Finally, I was paired with Logan Mere.
We passed a football back and forth; what we were practicing was catching the ball, above our heads. We were supposed to raise our hands up and touch our thumbs and pointer fingers to form a sort of triangle. I wasn't sure what the use of making fools out of twelve and thirteen year-olds was, but Coach Masshell had said it was most effective to catch the ball.
Many students got bored and started conversation as they practiced catching. I snuck a few glances at Briar now and then. At this point I was sort of in love with him. I wasn't sure how much, but I knew I thought I did.
I smiled automatically, without thinking. "Hey." Logan said. I shook my head, feeling a slight blush flooding my cheeks. "Uh,.. yeah?" I said a bit started and a bit nervous. Logan raised a brow, but continued on with his question, ignoring what I just did.
"A-..Are you.. dating someone?" He swallowed. I blinked, and gulped. "Yes. Why?" I glanced at Briar. They were tossing the ball still, whereas we'd stopped. We weren't the only ones either. The coach didn't seem to care though; she was on her phone and marking papers. I turned back to Logan. "Because I.. kind of want to date you." He finished. I really couldn't tell if he was scared of me or my answer at that point, he was on edge.
"Uh.." I said slowly. My heart was pounding and my breathing rate increased silently.
