Ping

"Huh?" I look around the room for my phone. I find it on the other side of the room, near the dresser on the floor. I pick it up, and accidentally nitch my head on the corner of an open drawer as I try to stand back up. I slide back to the ground and scoot away from the dresser, rubbing the back on my head.

I got a notification from one of my newly adopted sisters, Adreonixx, aka Low-low or Nanakii as she liked to be called. "Hey sis, we need to meet up.. "

Uh oh
"Kk. What happened?"

No reply for a long while. She must be driving.. I dm an address to meet up at and she agrees, sending a thumbs-up emoji. I grab my bag and a bottle of wine I swiped from my parent's drinking cabinet, my keys and begin the way I just sent Low-low.

About five minutes into the drive and I get a Missedcord call. It's from Low-low. I answer it, and put her on speaker, as if I plan on talking louder than the hum of the car. "H-Hey, sis." She says in a shaky voice. I get chills. "Hey, what's up goober?" I say, trying to ignore what sounds like her crying in the background for the moment.

"I- I don't know how to say this.. or if I even should over the phone like this.."

It sounds like she hit the gas hard and there's some loud car noise that fills the silence between us for a moment.

Before I can ask what she's talking about, the subject changes. "You know, I've never driven outta state by myself?" She says suddenly. I nod, although she can't see that. "Oh." I say.

The rest of the drive is silent aside from the radio on either side of the call, as I pull into the parking lot of the address I gave Low-low. We both get out of our cars and, I'll admit it's really awkward. Neither one of us had seen each other irl before. So there was a long moment where we were both staring at each other.
Low-Low has a channel on VidTube, where she posts videos that sometimes have her face in them, so I some what knew what she looked like already; just never up close like this. Never in person before. She's about five-foot four, maybe five-foot five. Brownie hair cut to about her shoulders, streaks of silver and purple shimmering in the dim parking lot lights. She's wearing a black sweater jacket that seems a bit big for her. She's wearing dark blue, ripped jeans, and dark gray converse.
In contrast I remember I have long dark chocolate hair that curls very slightly, reaching mid way down my back. I'm wearing a plain tan t shirt, black jeans and white & black tennis.

Then the moment passes. "Hi." She says, breaking the silence. I can only nod. My sister is really here, in front of me. She glances around, nervously, and I notice she had her hands in her pockets.
In fact she hadn't taken them out since she close the door to her car, and even then i just barely glimpsed it but I could've sworn I saw dark red.
I realize I'm staring and shake my head. "Uh, so..."
She chuckles quietly. "Sup goober."

We stare at each other for a moment, before the two of us burst out laughing. "This is so awkward." I say.
She nods. "Right."

We talk and laugh what feels like the rest of the night, and then when the sunlight starts poking through the clouds, we decide;

Willow Oakland will be hiding out at my house.

I don't ask why she used the word 'hide', but knowing her and the influence our other sister and siblings have on her and that we have on each other, it's probably not anything good. At least morally good.

We agree that I'll come up with a lie of some sort that Low-Low's parents kicked her out- I thought they did but whateves- and that she only has me now and I said she could stay with us.
I doubt it'll work, but Low-Low says just say she's a friend from school I've known for years.
