Y/n pov

"Hey, stranger."
I greeted him with a faint smile.
Jungkook was struggling for words. He was staring at me as if he had seen the Ghost of Christmas Past.
After what it felt like a lifetime, thankfully, someone decided to break the deafening silence.
"Talk about plot twists, huh?!" Taehyung addressed me, and a boxy smile materialised on his gorgeous face.
"Hi, Tae bear. How have you been?!" I said, placing my hand on his soft cheek. All of a sudden, he wrapped me up in a tight embrace and I hugged him back. After he withdrew from the hug, replied.
"I'm...speechless?!" and then added,
"I never thought I'd see you here, of all places." I knew that Jungkook was staring at us. I could feel his eyes on my back this whole time. I turned my body towards him wanting to make him say something, anything.
"It's rude not to greet someone back, you know?!" Words coming out of their own.
"Hey...runaway." He said, tilting his head as he raised his eyebrow.
"This is going to be fun." I heard Jane  mumble in a sarcastic tone. Suddenly, I felt so guilty for having totally forgotten about her presence and abandoned her there. I tried to make it up to her, as fast as I could.
"Oh, sorry. Let me personally introduce her. This is Miss Jung, my Vice and life saver." I gestured at her before grabbing her arm for support.
"Miss Jung, nice to meet you again." Jungkook said, in a very polite tone of voice as he bowed at her. She bowed back, smiling timidly.
Taehyung sensing the uneasiness surrounding the room, decided to take matters into his own hands.
"Uhmmm... would you like a cup of coffee, Miss Jung?! I could also show you around, if you like." She nodded, not knowing what to do, at the moment. After they left, Jungkook finally felt free to spurt out what he had been holding inside since the moment he saw me.
"Did you enjoy this?!" He exclaimed, keeping his voice low. But the tone clearly betrayed his calm facade.
"Enjoy what, Kookie?!" He winced at the mention of his nickname.
"Come on, Y/n, don't pretend. Not with me!" And looking me in the eye, he added.
"How long have you known, huh?! Is this all a game to you?!" I saw it in his eyes that he was profoundly hurt. He thought I was finally getting back at him, a sort of a payback.
"Believe me if you will, I didn't plan on it. I only found out last week. I was just as shocked as you are now." I replied with as much honesty as I could manage.
"And you thought well to surprise me." He huffed.
"I know how you love them." I said, in a sarcastic tone. He shook his head and scoffed in annoyance.
"So, you're the CEO, huh?!" He asked, more like stated, trying to make small talk to ease the tension.
"You look surprised." I said, trying not to lower my gaze.
"Not one bit." He replied swiftly before adding.
"You're the smartest person I know, you've always been." He moved his chair back as he settled himself in a more comfortable position.
"Are you trying to soften me up, Sir." I replied, with a hint of sexual innuendo. I regretted it as soon as it left my lips but the words were out.
"Y/n, please, don't call me that!"
He furrowed his brows and I saw his tongue hitting his cheek.
"I'm sorry, Jungkook. I should have kept it professional. My bad."
Not knowing how to continue the conversation, he closed his eyes and started to massage his neck. The air inside the room was getting too dense with so much tension that could clearly be cut with a knife. We didn't know how to behave around each other, anymore. The last five years had taken their toll on us. Afraid that every word coming out of one's mouth might hurt the other. Jungkook placed his hands on the desk in front of him and rested his head. After the overwhealming emotional rollercoaster, only now was I realizing how much I had missed him. He had become more handsome then ever. And, long hair suited him so much. I needed to get out of those unholy thoughts crowding my mind if I wanted to survive the whole week in this environment. But all I kept thinking was how I wanted to run my hand through his hair and feel their softness, once more. I finally decided to break the silence.
"Listen, Jungkook," when his full name left my lips, he lifted his head abrubtly.
"I have to go. Today's meeting was just a briefing, to get to know each other." He huffed at my choice of words, but I continued.
"We'll see each other tomorrow morning, then?!" I raised an eyebrow in a sort of question and he just nodded. I was leaving and about to open the door but a hold on my hand stopped me, closing it back. I could feel his presence behind my back, so close that his intoxicating perfume hit my nostrils and, soon after, my brain. Oh God, I thought, I could let myself drown in it. The warmth of his hand over mine sent shivers through my whole body. In that moment, I just wanted to lean back and abandon myself into a back-hug. Noticing I wasn't opposing to the newfound vicinity, he took advantage of the situation to get himself closer. I could feel his body over mine and was about to lean back when he opened his mouth to speak and his soft hot breath hit my ear.
"Y/n, can't you stay a bit more. For me?!"
