"Kookie?!" That was definitely a voice I hadn't missed at all, I thought to myself as I lifted up my eyes to look at her.
"What are you doing here?" I answered abruptly, and I saw that she was taken aback by my cold response.
"Yoongi wanted to talk to your mother about the wedding." She spoke as if it was the most natural thing in the world. As if I hadn't run away from her more than a year ago and never looked back.
"What's the rush?! Was he afraid I might run away?!" I answered as I climbed up the stairs that led to my room. I had my back on her when I realized she was following me upstairs.
"Where do you think you're going?" I asked her as I stopped in front of my room.
"With you?" She said in an uncertain tone of voice as she looked at me, thinking I had asked a stupid question.
"This is our room; my girlfriend's and mine. You're not gonna taint it by entering where you don't belong, like you always do. Everything in here belongs to her, me included."
"Why are you telling me all of this, huh?!" Her expression changed from fake meak obedient to her real pretentious one.
"So you know that I had other plans in life rather than marrying you. I'm being blackmailed into this deal. Because this is what it is, a business deal." I closed my eyes and sighed profoundly, trying to calm myself down. I was still on threshold, my hand squeezing the door handle, wishing it were somebody else's neck.
"But you and I were always meant to be together. You know it. I've been waiting to get back to you." I laughed hysterically before my mood turned into a somber one again.
"No, we were not!!! I never gave you any hope. I never even said I loved you. You were... just there. I never missed you even for a second. And if I could put a thousand miles between you and I again, I would." The beast inside me had been unleashed and couldn't be stopped anymore.
"I had removed your entire existence until your lowlife brother decided to show up. Now, if you don't mind, just step back. I need to lock this door. I don't feel comfortable knowing that you're sharing the same air as me." I was about to slam the door in her face, but she managed to stop it, holding out her hand.
"You're just being mean, Kookie." Her voice was starting to crack, just like her nerves.
"Oh, if you think this is me being mean, then you know nothing about me. I'm just getting started. I'll make sure your long-time dream turns into your worst nightmare. And, another thing. You get to call me by my full name, if you really have to. Everything that comes out of your mouth is abominable, even my own name." She was about to hit me, but I caught her hand midair.
"I wouldn't try it again if I were you." She ran downstairs, crying. I slammed the door, making sure she heard it.Y/n pov
I hadn't stepped outside in days. I didn't feel like living anymore. I mopped around the house all day long, like a corpse. Same ritual on repeat, from the bed to the couch and back to bed again. My dad had taken a few days off work to look after me. I protested, telling him I could take care of myself, but he refused to listen to reason. I refused to eat. I couldn't keep my food down. I was sick to my stomach whenever I thought about my situation.
"Do you intend to live like this from now on?!" My dad asked as he started to prepare dinner.
"At the moment, I'm just trying to survive another day. I'll think about living another time." I was sitting on the couch with the plaid on my shoulders.
"Y/n, you're not being funny. If that was your intention." He replied as he kept doing what he was doing.
"I haven't heard your phone ring these days. Did he stop calling you?" This time, he turned around.
"No, I blocked him cause he wouldn't stop calling me." I said, hoping he was done with the interrogation.
"Have you decided anything yet? About the proposal I made you, I mean?" I heard his chopping stop for a few moments as he wanted to hear my answer.
"I'm seriously considering it." I said casually.
"Really?!" Now he came sitting next to me on the couch.
"Yeah. I need to get out of here. Otherwise, I'll lose whatever sanity I have left. My hands are itching to call him. I miss him like crazy, dad. I'm afraid that, if I stay here, I'll agree to everything he asks me to. I can't trust myself around him. But, at the same time, I know it's not right to live like this either. If I stay here, we'll end up hurting each other even more." I said as I laid my head on my father's shoulder. He patted my arm as he kissed the top of my head.
"You're making the right decision. You'll see." He said as he got up again to finish dinner.RM pov
I haven't heard from Y/n since that night when she called me. In fact, I had called her a few times in the following days, but she had refused my calls. So, when I saw her text, it came as a shock.
"We need to talk. Let's meet at the usual place, near the university." I texted back that I'd reach her right away.
When I got there, I saw she was already drinking. She looked terrible. She looked like she was barely hanging in there. My heart sank a bit seeing her like that.
"Hey, what's going on? I want to ask you how you're doing, but you look like hell." I said as I stroked her cheek.
"Thanks." She answered sarcastically.
"Why did you call me here? Is there something going on?" I moved a few hair out of her face since she had her head down, and I couldn't see her properly.
"Let's get married." She said out of nowhere. I took her glass of soju and drank straight from it.
"Say what?!" She laughed hysterically.
"Didn't you want me?! Now you can have me." She opened her arms as if inviting me in.
"You don't want to get married. You just want to piss him off." I settled back on my chair as I tsk-ed at her.
"So what if I do, huh?! So what?! I'm so fucking angry I want to chop his balls off." She bumped her fist on the table making everyone turn around and look at us.
"Y/n, you're heartbroken, I get it. I get it better than anyone but getting married to me won't solve anything." I brought my chair closer to hers so I wouldn't have to raise my voice.
"Ok, as you wish. I'm gonna ask Tae or Jin, then." She said casually as she tried to pour herself another glass of soju. I pulled the glass away from her hand. She tried to pull it back until we emptied it over the table as we fought over it.
"You're out of your mind! And, you're completely waisted." As she tried to get her glass back, she suddenly put her hand over her mouth. I saw her run towards the bathroom and I followed behind her. Before I could get in, she closed the door to my face. While waiting for her to get out, I decided to sent a message to Jungkook, hoping he'd see it right away.
"I'm with Y/n at your usual place. Get here as soon as you see this text. She's not doing well."
After she emptied her bowels, Y/n passed out on the restaurant table. Thankfully, it was a ... day at the restaurant and the few people that were still there were trying not to hover. I kept looking at the time on my phone and checking it out every few minutes, waiting for an answer from Jungkook but nothing. After a while, I saw him park the car on the other side of the street. I got outside so I could talk to him alone.
"Where is she?" Was the first thing he asked as he kept looking inside the restaurant's fogged windows trying to see her.
"She passed out in one of the tables, after drinking her ass off." I said to him.
"You let her drink?!" He questioned me as if I were the culprit.
"She was already drunk when I got here. How is it my fault?! I shouldn't have called you. I knew you'd blame me." I raised my voice as I looked around the empty street.
"I'm sorry. It's just that I'm always on edge lately and every little thing tickles my nerves. I think I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown. God, I can't take it anymore." He sat on his knees, his head hanging on his hands.
"Well, brace yourself because what I'm about to tell you it's not gonna help your case either." He raised his head and furrowed his brows as he stared at me attentively.
"She asked me to marry her." He gasped. With one swift movement, he got back on his feet.
"You heard that right. She's very angry and overly upset. I think this is her way of striking back at you. She's hurt. You've got to understand. Anyway, I told her no, if it makes you feel any better." He huffed and then said something I never expected to hear from him.
"Do it!" He said as he looked me straight in the eyes without flinching a bit. When he realized I was trying to process what he just said, he repeated it again.
"I said, marry her. If you don't, she'll leave and we'll never see her again. I must be really out of my mind to say this." I was rendered speechless. That was something I would never have expected in a million years.
"She's leaving???" I exclaimed in a loud voice.
"Didn't you know?!" I shook my head, caught totally off guard.
"Her sister told me. Since Y/n had blocked my number, I kept calling her sister, hoping she'd answer. After many, MANY, phone calls, and texts, she finally answered. I told her I was desperate to know about Y/n, and she agreed to meet me. She told me Y/n wanted to leave town and finish her studies abroad. Wouldn't tell me where, though. She wants to get away from me." I saw his hands tremble a bit. He realized it and hid them in his pockets.
"Never in my life would I have thought I'd have this conversation with you." I huffed at him.
"When she wakes up, tell her you'll marry her. But don't mention anything about me knowing. Otherwise, she'd run away just to spite me. You know how she is. This is between you and I." I nodded. Then, he got near the window and stared at her for a little while as she kept sleeping peacefully. I saw him draw something with his finger on the glass. Afterward, without looking back at me, he hopped in inside his car and drove away.p.s: I had to split this chapter in two otherwise it would have been too long.
I'll update the other part very soon
